Alt + S while winamp is running, use the "set skins directory" button.

Might I ask why you want to change the directory?

Oh, you should have said in the first place...

1) Have you tried cleaning out your windows temp directory,
2) Have you treid cleaning out your temp internet files directory.

Both those can cause problems when downloading skins.

3) Have you tried right clicking on the download link and choosing "save target as" , then saving to the winamp skins directory when prompted. C:\program files\winamp\skins

4) Do you have any dodgy 3rd party plugins installed on your system, in particular any gen_***.dll type ones?, check your plugins directory
c:\program files\winamp\plugins

5) Do you get the same error when downloading from any other skins sites?
http://www.1001winampskins.com

6) Do you have any download accelorators installed on your system, these sometimes can corrupt a download

Well, I'll try and explain what MR Jones told you to do....

1) Empty Temporary Internet Files
Close Internet Explorer browser.
Rt click IE desktop icon (the e icon)
Select "Properties"
General tab -> Temporary Internet Files -> Delete -> Okay

2) If the problem persists... empty the "C:\Windows\Temp" folder
Goto this folder via "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer"
Ctrl+A (to select all) -> Delete
(for lord's sake, make sure you only do this in the C:\Windows\Temp folder, nowhere else.)

4) Have you installed any extra 3rd-party plugins for Winamp?
as in the ones available @ www.winamp.com/plugins
If yes, then which ones exactly?
