Maybe the vis could have every other line the color of the background so it looks like lines drawn on. Looks cool

you could always add your title... And this is kind of an odd suggestion, and woudn't be a big deal either way, but try to picture drawing these buttons on a real etch-a-sketch. I'm not sure if you'd do it any differently, but it might give you some ideas on how to design things. In general, though, it really looks like the real thing, so good job so far

edit: I just thought of something else... What if instead of boxes around the numbers and text, you just had a line run throught them? (or across the top or bottom?) It might look cool that way... I'm just thinking about how annoying it would be to do all the text on a real one, and what the easiest way would be.

Luigi, i like the idea to get rid of the box around the numbers. I think i'm going to leave the one around the text in case someone uses the non bitmap font.

The chances of me finishing this on time are looking slimmer by the day. I'm going on vacatin next week and won't be able to work on it. When I get back I have a ton of summer work still to do. So I have to work my ass off these next few days because I'll have an hour at most each day to finish this up once I get back. In other words. . .don't count on cursors or mikro or stuff like that. I'll do it for submitting to WA but unfortunately i'm not sure that i'll have time before the contest ends.

k_rock: I sincerely hope you can get your skin done before the deadline, but you know, don't give yourself an aneurysm over it! At the very least, don't worry about the little extras.

Your latest version has significantly improved. I really like the new Cbuttons and the fitting volume/balance/eq/pl buttons. My only suggestion at this point would be to make your numbers a little more square-ish and to give your white min/max/etc. buttons a little more definition.

Good luck!

I'm sorry. But the chances of me finishing in time are basically zilch. I just got back from vactaion and I still have some summer work to do. It will be on the back burner until i get school going. Sorry

I've been too busy recently to have time to finish my skin

If there was some extra time to help out the last-minute people like me, then I would probably get mine finished. I'll understand if the deadline remains fixed though.

I'm 25.

Okay. Okay, okay. Apparently my pride outweighs my rule sticklerness. The fact remains that with 5 hours to the deadline, I only have 2 entries.

SW, if you need an extra week, you've got it.

New deadline: Midnight, September 13th

Just out of curiosity, will this help the rest of you in getting your skins completed and submitted? Tell me how long you would need to do that. Keep in mind that a) I would prefer not to keep re-extending the deadline and b) I don't want this to drag on forever.

What think you?

Luigi: Wheee! Now I have a bookend for my Compy Amp! Too cool. Looks pretty good so far. I really like how your computer screen background turned out. I would suggest being cautious about adding too much text as it would clutter the skin. Could you find a shorter phrase for your Eq title? You might want to tweak the two black control knobs at the bottom left of the main as they look a bit skewed. You might also consider making your Cbuttons as bright as the rest of your buttons. Finally, the "Q" on the "Eq" in the main looks a bit odd. Too thin and square.

Can't wait to see this one completed. Will you be making a window with a post-explosion Tandy?

StillWater: I'm giddy with glee to see this one so near completion! I like the min/max button highlight mode and the resized sprites are looking really good (though you may want to touch up the flying mosquito-like creature in the Eq). I couldn't see any bugs, although you forgot to put the colon in the Pledit timer again.

I think you're pretty much done with it, though if you feel like fiddling, here are a few suggestions:

- your button labels in the Main, although very useful, kind of clutter the window a bit. I'm afraid I can't think of a good alternate solution, but at the very least, I think you should change the colour of the text as red doesn't stand out very well from brown.

- I feel the cloud in the ee titlebar should have a bit more definition, maybe just an outline.

- I think I've mentioned this before, but I feel your eq and pl buttons in the Main are a bit counterintuitive. I'm of the immovable opinion ( ) that whole drops should mean "on" and broken should mean "off".

- Perhaps a title for the Main, Pledit and Video windows? I would much prefer that to the "active" circle, which to me doesn't fit with the skin. (Perhaps if you used an element of the game instead?)

- Are there any elements of the game to use for the Video buttons? They look kinda plain compared to everything else. If size is an issue, could you make the ground more narrow?

I think that's it. Man, I'm picky.

Oops, that was a total oversight. Thanks Luigi I don't use it much either, although I do use the always-on-top button/indicator. I always skin it (unless I totally forget, like here ), since people can always turn it off anyway.

Oh Wally, you're giving my brain a run for its money at this late/early hour (depending on the time zone ). I think I was in the right. I did say the deadline would be forum time which I meant to mean GMT time, but I didn't really explain that, but I should have.

I think.

So to be superfair, if anyone submits a skin in the next 24 hours, I'll accept it.

I just noticed that I don't know what GMT time is. My clock says 2:32pm right now, but on the forum it's about 7:30. Weeeeeeeeeird. Those crazy time zones.

GMT is Greenwich Mean Time. Greenwich is a location in the UK that is the central location for the world's time zones. It's not in the U.S., which is why you never learnt about it in school
