No Winamp display
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Winamp 5.58 When I start Winamp, I do not see anything on my monitor except for the icon in the task tray. When I hover over the icon I see what looks like a small blue player with the vcr type controls at the bottom of it. Clicking on it does nothing When I left click on the icon - Nothing and when I right click - on the icon, there is a small window that lists the previous tracks I just installed this version of Winamp on another computer using WinXP Pro. Much the same story when I start the program. Both computers show, in the task manger, that Winamp is running. How, can I get past this so I can get back to playing my music the way I like please? Thanks,
I started ploughing through all the suggested fixes and then had a thought. During installation there were two error messages. The first was: Script Failure. Press left mouse button to continue Guru Meditation #001C 008306A9 Null object called Big Bento/scripts/maximize.maki And the next was a winamp installer window that said: There was a problem installing components. CD Ripping/Burning may not function properly .."-1' The Words "Big Bento caught my attention. So, I reinstalled using the old Winamp skin. That worked and I can now use Winamp. It seems that there is something wrong with the Big Bento skin when one considers that the same problem and messages came up when installing on two different computers using different OS's. Both computers ran the previous versions of Winamp fine. Is it possible to be notified when a fix is available please? thank you. Geoff |

Winamp is compatible with Win7 and Vista. I don't think the issue(s) you are having is related to the current version of Winamp.
Make sure you are not running Winamp with a compatibility mode setting... Right-click the Winamp desktop icon, select "Properties", then go to the Compatibility tab and uncheck everythingCompatibility mode can cause issues with Winamp, especially with Modern skins When installing Winamp, it should be done in an administrator account (not a user account). Also, make sure that a previous installation of Winamp is not running at the time of install. Additionally, the latest version of Winamp is 5.581 at the time of this reply. |
