    Leaking Headphones in Public

So does this annoy anyone else?
Some cool kid brings out his Beats Pro and then let them rip full volume with Drake.

That was just an example and there other headphones that leak just as bad, Such as the Apple ones.

This is fine in Studios and Bedrooms.
    Not fine in other places.

Also I myself have seen already people with Beats Pro in the Berlin U-Bahn & Berlin S-Bahn (city trains). They seem to have much incomes, if they can buy them. Once I saw somebody with Beyerdynamic headphones. If the people use on-ear-headphones instead of in-ear-phones & earbuds, then they use for example also headphones from Sony or AKG.

To play music synthesizers & sing, to create music-videos on my Workstation PC or to listen & watch to the music on my notebook in the bed, the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro are very good. For me they are the best headphones.

I myself hate in-ear-phones & earbuds, also as a child I had never liked them, and I refuse to use them. For my Archos 43 with 32 GB micro SDHC card I use my Sennheiser PX-100ii. For me no in-ear-phones & no earbuds, never!...

Never was a fan of Sennhieser… they make great products with even better sound, I've just never liked them.

I've got the Shure 750dj for the DJ line of work. Really like those.

I also like my in-ear RHA ma750's for travel to block the noise out…

Beats are a gimmick. I don't like Dr. Dre's music, why the hell would I purchase a pair of his earphones?

          Interesting, Is there a reason?

I wanted to reply already yesterday, but I went to a meeting and then I walked through the Treptower Park at the river Spree. I visited also the "Liebesinsel" ("Love Island"). Although I listened to my MP3s, I heard the very cute sparrows. Many people jogged with earbuds, many other people walked with Sony Headphones like DR-ZX302VP, DR-ZX301IP, MDR-ZX600, MDR-ZX610AP, MDR-ZX300, MDR-ZX310 / ZX310AP...

In the city trains I have already seen people with AKG K 518 LE DJ Headphones...

In the beginning of the Eighties Frank had used Sennheiser HD-424. In the beginning there were 8 pairs in the music studio, 10 years later only 2 pairs had remained. Also his mother got a pair, and she told me: "These headphones were very good.". If You scroll down in these forums, You will find an image from Imageshack (sorry, it's in German)...
Es gab doch früher bis in die 80er rein diese guten Sennheiser Kopfhörer. Relativ flach mit gelben Schaumstoff umzogen. Ihr wisst, was ich meine. Der

1993 Frank continued solo, and he wanted to have his own Beyerdynamic DT-990 Headphones. 1994 and 1996 we began to buy some pairs. 2007 and 2009 I bought the next pairs. Another musician used AKG Studio Headphones (he himself continued solo, too). He told me at the telephone: "The look is not critical. It is more important, that You can wear them for many hours, because these headphones fit very comfortably. Also You are not annoyed by a bad sound.". But also I myself wanted to have the Beyerdynamic Studio Headphones instead. Someone else from our music project wants to buy new AKG Studio Headphones soon...

I find the "loud headphones on the bus" issue irritating as well. Sometimes makes me wish I could carry around something to EMP their player :P That said, I find people are usually responsive (at least in my area) when you tell them to turn it down - the problem is they don't always realize how sucky their earphones are.
On a more serious note - the headphones I usually carry around are also cheap, but I don't make them blast out music.. mostly because I want to be able to hear if something happens around me, not drown everyone out (nor burst my eardrums, they've suffered enough).
At home, though, I have a pair of Sennheiser PC 350s that I got from my previous employement when their doors closed. I usually only have them on for gaming / when I've got company over and we need separate audio for whatever reason (usually gaming, again).

This is true for most situations I think. People are annoyed but are too uncertain of themselves to simply ask the person to lower the volume. Talk to people. Communicate. It's what makes a society. If we're afraid of just any random other person, it says a lot about your involvement in the society you live in I think.

I've had encountered so many douche on the malls and the school that were wearing their beats and intentionally placing the volume to full blast just to gather attention.

I've heard good stuff about shure and RHA. But man, Sennheiser is the top of the line! How come you never liked them? Sennheiser MM550-X is one of the best bluetooth headphones from 2013 according to these :http://bestheadphonesreviews.us/what...hones-in-2013/

Sennheiser headphones have 2 much of veiled sound for my tastes, they don't really make exciting headphones.

Bright colors, big headphones, worn around the neck, volume cranked to a distorted level... "Look at me! Look at me!"

At one time Beats Audio was considered pretty good quality, but now it's just a huge marketing company with little if any focus on sound reproduction integrity. I never bothered buying them. When I'm in the DJ booth, which is becoming less and less often each year, I just wear old giant insulated Pioneer ones with break-away wire plugs. They're not the best but they work. I also have some home-made ones that are actually top rated 3M brand "tekk protection" earmuffs retrofitted with the speakers from broken Shure brand headphones from another DJ. The hearing protection earmuffs keep out the lawn tractor and chainsaw noise while the music is clear without needing a deafening volume.

Sitting next to some guy on the subway, and he had a pair of Beats. I couldn't see the screen of his tablet, but I could hear that he was watching a porn video. Lovely.

It's definitely really annoying. But it's all about if the headphones has a closed back or not. Open back headphones have more "open" sound with more "air" in it that a lot of people prefer, so I guess it's why people tend to buy them. Closed headphones on the other hand are noise-isolating (or even noise-cancelling) which is good because you don't hear anything around you, for example on the bus, and people around you don't hear your music. These guys have a couple of articles that explain it even more in depth. The thing that annoys me the most is however, that the people who leak sound are usually not at all aware of it themselves, and nobody is willing to tell them either.

3 days ago I saw a man in the bus on the way to my Therapeutic Exercises. He used the newer generation of in-ear-phones, and I heard 3 metres away, that he listened to Hardcore Techno. These are his own ears, not mine, and after some years he will experience his surprise. The doctors have warned again and again, that especially these in-ear-phones are very dangerous. Also I myself say, on-ear-headphones are much better.

There are times, where the tenants are allowed to play their trumpets and to use their drilling-machines, and there are times, where they are not allowed to do that. I mentioned already, that for our keyboards we use the Beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro, and I do that also for my notebook and sometimes for my PC. If not, then I have the loudspeakers at very low volume. We don't disturb the neighbors. If I am on the couch with my notebook on the couch table and if I have started Winamp, then Frank can hear also 3 metres away, if the current song is Dub Techno or Ambient & Downtempo.

The Beyerdynamic headphones are half-open. In the previous year another band member had bought new headphones from AKG, and as Singer & Songwriter she needs closed headphones, because half-open and open headphones would disturb the vocals recordings.

I had bought my Archos 43 and the Sennheiser PX-100ii in May 2012. I didn't listen to music outside very often. Mostly again the next terrible destiny had happened, and then I was not in the mood for the music outside anymore for many weeks. I was very careful with the device. It began after this Summer, that the output didn't work anymore, sometimes 1 channel, sometimes both, sometimes the volume was too low. I wanted to do tests with other headphones. Again I wanted to connect it with my notebook, I clicked connect, but my notebook wasn't able to see it. I disconnected it, terminated all running apps and waited for the self-turn-off. When I wanted to turn it on again, it was not possible anymore. One of the service shops said, it is pending on what did get broken, another one said, it cannot be repaired anymore.

I really didn't lease the luck...
