Song Pop-up gone

Had to create an entirely new e-mail account on some random e-mail provider just to make an account here as none of mine would work...

Anyways since updating to whatever version the latest winamp is the little notification that pops up by the clock that tells you what song you are listening to has stopped popping up for me and was wondering how I would go about getting that back.

Options Menu > Winamp Modern > Notifications > check the setting(s) you want.

Mine's done the same thing since I installed the last update.

I've tried tweaking the notification settings, and usually, it just works again for a small while before going back to not working.

same here on two different computers, one running vista 32-bit and the other 7 64-bit. 5.56 worked flawlessly on both systems, but after updating to 5.57, the notifications randomly decide to stop working. what did they change in the notifications for 5.57?

I change notification settings and it works for like, 2 songs and then stops... I think something in the latest update may have buggered it up

Info required

Confirm you're using 5.572, not 5.57 or 5.571
Which skin? Winamp Modern, Big Bento, Bento?
What file formats? eg. mp3, audio cd, other?

This change from the 5.57/5.571 changelog caused the problem initially:

* Improved: [gen_ff] Multithreaded <AlbumArt/> object

But it was fixed in 5.571 to 5.572, and we can no longer reproduce it...

[Edit]

Hmm, wait...

I think I can reproduce the problem when using the |<< & >>| multimedia keys on my keyboard...

I am indeed using 5.572. It is the Bento skin. All the files are mp3s. I do use the touch multimedia keys on my laptop. My system specs are:

MSI GT725-075US
Intel Core 2 Duo P9500
4 GB DDR2-800 RAM
320 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
ATi 4850 512 MB GDDR3 Video Card
Windows 7 Professional x64

It's hard to reproduce, it only seems to happen if I'm browsing the internet or whatever and the songs are playing through by themselves. I'll eventually notice that they aren't showing anymore, restarting the program fixes it though

I'm having the same problem. Pop-up still appears when, say, pausing or stopping a song, but it won't pop-up on resume unless it was already there for a pause, and rarely ever pops up on song change anymore.

Running the latest version of Winamp on Vista 32-bit. Specs included in attached CPU-Z log.

hm, i was expiring similar behaviours during 5.57 development phase.

have spent lots of time to investigate this issue, and the main prob is that i cannot rely if an albumart is present or not. So there must be something that still causes problems.

Right now I have no possibility to debug the stuff. But I'll keep an eye on it for 5.58.

A quick fix would be to always turn the album art on, this means it is displayed as Llama if no cover has been found. (or to turn it completely off) But this isn't my intention...

as you've not provided the information about your Winamp install i'm just going to have to guess that you're not using the the current version of Winamp as the issue is meant to have been resolved from the 5.58 release (current is 5.581 as of this posting).
