Looking for a QUALITY keyboard.

I've tried keyboard after keyboard..

Right now, using a Microsoft Digital Media Pro... one of the plastic stands just broke, and the plastic feet keep sliding off.

I am looking for the uber keyboard. I don't want the feet coming off, I don't want the pieces that elevate the keyboard breaking.

My question: The uber keyboard. I want something affordable, but solid as a rock. More solid than a chevy. Less metal though.

yeah, i'm back.

Cherry make keyboards of extremely good build quality. I had my Cherry for years, they make probably about the best non-specialist computer keyboards you can buy.

A pint of Irn Bru will fuck them right up, though.

There was some concept keybord doing the rounds a while back, had programable lcds on the keys and other wonderful stuff. Can't find a link now, don't think it was ever in production.

Hum, go get an older model Generic Keybord. Pre 1997 is your best vintage for quality keybords, they just seem to go downhill from there.

Compaq! I've used multiple ones now (not because they broke, just because I had them ) but durability is just outstanding. 2 of 3 have been intensively used for years by secretaries and I have spilled multiple glasses of soda over them, but they never stopped working. The stickyness of the keys just went away after two weeks or so.

I think it's fugly, the design somehow reminds me of really cheap and crappy stereos.

Or, to put it another way:

That's no keyboard, it's a keytar.

This keyboard has a completely waterproof surface, cannot suffer any form of impact damage on the keys, can be used easily in the dark, takes less than two square inches of space on your desk, will never suffer broken stands or dislodged rubber feet, fits easily in your pocket and can be made fully configurable.

I've been playing with a G15 for a couple of days, which replaced a Logi media elite (didnt like it), which replaced an MS multimedia board which i used every day for the last two years.

The LCD is nifty (especially when combined with LCDStudio), but it's ergonomics and certain key placements take a little while to get used to. I'm still not 100% comfortable with it yet.

One thing that bugs me is that they chose blue for the backlight of the G15, yet went with an orange/brown theme with the G5 mouse (which i'm also using). Even the G7 doesnt match...

I had a friend who bought a black Cherry KB, was a good piece of kit, until the letter markings started rubbing off within a year.

I have a cheap Genius keyboard that has laptop style flat keys. Very nice to use, unless when playing games when the lack of definition between the keys makes it more difficult.

The G80 has laser-etched markings (which isn't that special, the cheap OEM kb that came with my box has them too).

I used to have a rubber flexible keyboard that was transparent and completely silent for dorm use when the room mates were sleeping. It wasn't most comfortable though. However, the wow factor of people's reactions to seeing it was always good, and if I really wanted it to be comfortable, I could have built something under it that angled it better.

I wish I could figure out what brand it was so I could get another one just for the bar computer. I'd like to buy it and somehow back-light it.

If any of you know what I'm talking about, post a link.

My son just ordered this:

Mainly for the backlighting.

An agreement between a providor of goods and a consumor of goods, that if said provided goods are broken within a certian amount of time, aforementioned goods can be exchanged for the original invested amout of currency or for goods of equal or lesser value to originally procured goods.

That thing looks like it can't handle much porn.

I haven't had a keyboard yet that can withstand the pressures asociated with a girl's ass sitting on it while taking a frontal thrust pounding.

I found one like the one that I mentioned here although it's not transparent like mine was. Pretty interesting, AND, for Chev, gaekwad, and Invisable, it probably WILL handle that sorta thing since it's flexible and liquid-proof.

With a projection keyboard she can sit there without harming the it at all, and in fact the keyboard will then be projected on her ass. If you put your head over her shoulder, you can even type on it while you execute the frontal pounding.
