Nevermind - got it to work now. (the download was named spider.wal.zip) had to rename it.
The spider is great but the remote realy shines! gotta play with this one

The spider kinda suits my desktop setting right now - very cool

That silly windows. If you're running XP/2000 just close explorer.exe and run everything like that, it'll make it all so much more fun!!1

Thats a nice looking desktop m1ndd0g, I see youre using Aston too. I almost switched to it myself, but I just couldn't live without the hiding taskbar icons and new start menu in XP.

<edit>Winamp3 does open *.wal.zip, so I don't know why that was a problem for him. It was probably that winamp doesn't seem to register new skins in the directory until you reload the skin you're using.

i found a coding error, when opening and closing the remote or the spider the animations don't update when certain things open and close so the spiders abdomen is open but there is no remote

A couple questions about future plans for the remote:

1. Are you going to make a mirror-image version so that it doesn't look goofy as hell when it's docked to the right side of the screen?

2. Any chance of making the volume/position and skin select panels independent? I for one know that I change the volume and seek through a song a hell of a lot more often than I change skins.

Just curious...

I think they should make it so you could close each independently, but I'm fine without that feature. I just hide it like in the attached image, and thats probably how I'll keep it.

1) no plans for that yet, though i have expressed to nem that i want to make the right hand side of the skin square like the left.

2) it will happen, the reason it doesnt yet is because it was easier to code this way and i didnt have to make a new button on all the skins :P

hmm i just remembered that neko has some other skins that aren't ready.. i guess he abandoned them when he moved to spider.

and now he has a new skin.

neko with this paste, ull have plenty of skins, and none of them ready.

i understand that u have ideas poping out every second, but why not make a design and leave it aside until u finish ur current skins.. /me wants my masturbating spider

as with everything in life, if you concentrate solely on one thing your mind becomes saturated towards anything else, this, i beleive is the destroyer of creativity, instead of innovative ideas being placed on the already creative base we have done so far, continueing now, would meerly cause us to add basic things with no real emotional boost behind them, thus we'd end up comprimising the design simply to get it finnished, and i, dont want that, especially at this point, the spider is going to require massive ammounts of love and attention from us both, and at the present moment in time, we have no groundbreaking ideas to pour into it, so were taking a break until our creative juices are flowing once more, in doing side projects, we will take out minds off spider and think up new concepts, and may even do something and think "hey, that'd look cool on spider" and come back to the idea at another time, we want spider to be one of the most fun, innovative and impressive skins around, so far were on the right track.., if i sound bad for saying this, i'm sorry, but please dont rush us, this is after all, our first real wa3 skin, what you see now, we've had to learn every step of the way.

this thread will remain the only thread containing spider, so you'll see it pop up in a week or so, maybe less, with new screenies and a download or two, until then, be patient .

if you yourselves, have any ideas for the skin, please feel free to contact us.

I've just wasted 2 hours reading the whole thread.
1) My harddrive would catch on fire putting that much on it at once. I have two heat sinks attached to them. Interesting, eh?
2) Damn you! Your skin at least shows up. My worked with the last beta, and now all it shows is all those stupid green boxes with white X's. I don't suppose any of you work for commision, would you?
3) The remote doesn't appear to snap to the top of the screen. Or the bottom, for that matter.

Oh it snaps, just not at the spot that you want it to

The botom and top of the two drawers are the points at which it'll snap. Click the F button to see the drawers..

Where exactly can I find a proto/beta?

Neko...

I really like this skin, which is weird because normally I feel that they only good spider is a dead spider. This is the first time I've ever read/heard anything about it, and, like everyone else, am waiting for it to be released. As far as suggestions go, I would like to see some different colors on the pop-up lights, perhaps a redish or maybe even like a black-light effect. As far as the remote goes, I think it looks great, but would like to see the "song text box scroller thing" (nice name for it, huh) a little bit longer revealing more of the name of the song.

Keep it up man.
