Playlist Issue with APE and FLAC

Hi, When I use EAC to rip a file it produces a .m3u playlist and a bunch of .wav files. The .m3u playlist works in Winamp.
But if I use FLAC or Monkeys to convert the .wav files to either FLAC or .ape the .m3u playlist file loads in playlist editor on winamp and all the files but it causes winamp to freeze and nothing plays at all.

Im using Windows XP and winamp v5.52

Should these playlists work or is it limited to mp3 or wav files?

Any suggestions?

Well, the playlist just points to files, in thise case the WAV files. If you convert the WAV files to another format and ditch the WAV files, the playlist hasn't changed. it still points to the (nonexistent) WAV files. So, Winamp is probably just looping though a playlist with nothing playable in it.

Load the FLAC or APE files individually and same a new M3U if you want one.
