But no - in fact i don't watch the original presets, more often i'm moving in my own folders - so i don't think i can help.

one last hint to authors: if your presets use a texture wrap, keep in mind the known issues with ATI cards. generally don't use sampler_fw_* and be careful with GetPixel(uv) (workaround: tex2D(sampler_fc_main,frac(uv)); )

Regarding the naming of presets I understand difficulty to naming some but I everyone should try.

Sadly I think although the 'feature' of the mashup is great for people to quickly create some new things however for people who 'write' their own code for the presets it is seen as too easy a shortcut.

the problem concerns the Radeon9000 to X series as far as i know: texture wrap mode simply doesn't work - even on PS1.0 presets. but in most cases you can circumvent the problem by using clamped textures and doing the wrap by hand (and i really became a fan of the mirrored wrap)

Interesting that... I figured Geiss wrote for NV cards, but why wouldn't texture wrap work even when it's implemented differently?

Maybe something about ATi cards rendering screen edges?

eh, I'm too tired to think about it or look into it right now...


oh, and thanks. That one came out of one of my experiments with multiple sets of UV values for different layer effects.

i think i could easily put out a handful of brand-new presets every two weeks which are all worth to be featured. but i guess some single appendices won't be too problematic. i vote for it

I'd like to see some new presets for an upcoming version of Winamp.

Also, is anyone maybe interested in maintaining what we ship as the "official" presets? Geiss and Rovastar put together the presets that shipped with 5.5 but Geiss is too busy these days to keep fiddling with them.

the new collection is already included with the Winamp5.55 beta! So with the next release all properly-credited mixes and new stuff from this thread + some other work will be included.

@fed: that means the stuff from your latest pack has not made it. never mind, i like it - but as long as you don't give credit to the artists you mash up, i am sorry. nevertheless i really like the effect on the 'slipped chasers in the sky' mix (where [Who] by the way stands for Eo.S. as Phat has already stated earlier in this thread). Is that your own shader code? - it's a very cool effect.
My second favorite is the madness preset which uses a composite shader of mine.

Sorry Flex and everyone else - i was hurrying with this pack just before going to hospital in the morning. That was my mistake forgetting about EoS and Phat(i'm sorry very much too), but i really had no time to surf this thread again. By the next release I'll do my best and won't forget about anywone who was involved in the composition of my presets i promise.
About slipped chasers: this fx was written by me yes. Thank you a lot for appreciating my work, too!

Maybe It's too late, but I want to submit some presets I made changing variables and parts of code in presets designed by other people... I needed some backgrounds that were slow, epileptic friendly, and dark... Here they are.

But you know the rules. If you want your presets published, give credit to all authors that you have remixed and stay with the official naming system. It's been quite a while since the last compilation. Maybe everyone around here adds a new contribution. Martin, Amandio, Greg, ..? ^^
