Trouble with history

Hi guys, I recently updated Winamp with the most recent version, however when I did, I got an immediate problem of it simply not working.

I wanted to keep my history and playcounts, so i saved the AppData Winamp directory, reinstalled it and then pasted the old ML directory into the new one, this brought me back all my old settings, history and playcount, I did this as I could not open up WinAmp so they could not be exported
I thought this was fine, but it will now not keep any of my history or log my plays

It is probably because of the crude way I have treated the ML directory, I tried just pasting the main.dat/idx and the recent.dat/idx files but this did not work. I would assume I need to reinstall, but is there a better way of importing my old counts? (I am running Vista Ultimate)

Thanks, Ed

What version were you running before the upgrade?
Did you try just installing 5.552 straight on top of it?

The media library database format changed slightly in 5.55, and the 5.55+ installer automatically converts the old database during installation.

Are all features actually enabled in the options?

Winamp -> Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Media Library -> Local Media -> Options tab:
Enable 'Recently Played' in the media library
If the two 'Wait' options underneath are checkmarked, then are the values maybe set too high?

Winamp -> Prefs -> Media Library -> History:
Enable 'History' view
Track when and how many times files are played

Yes, I did install it straight ontop of 5.552, do you think that was what messed up the installation the first time?

Also, I had no idea those options were there, I have enabled them, and it now appears to be working fine

Thanks for the help (sorry for the noobish problem)

Ed

Importing history and connecting with Last.fm

Hey,
I wonder if it's possible to transfer last played tracks / history from another computer to my home laptop and connect those recent tracks with Last.fm. I managed to transfer "recent.dat" and "recent.idx" from an "ml"-folder to another and make the tracks visible on my home Winamp. Could it be possible to connect those tracks with Last.fm scrobbler so that Last.fm client would consider them as not yet submitted/scrobbled tracks?
