Method to Disable Media Monitor

I see why the Media Monitor is a useful tool but it can come in the way as there is no way to turn it off. Every time I'm on a forum or browsing some page related to the station I'm tuned into, part of the browser space gets eaten by the media monitor.

Even if I close/hide the Media monitor - it pops back up when I'm on another page and is always visible when I restart Winamp.

I would like to see a way to disable the auto popup.

It should remember the state I leave it in. If needed, it could instead show a number/notification on how many media streams are available on the website instead of showing all the streams. Its a minor issue, but I think it will make the browser more usable.

Thanks

PS: I did search through Winamp for any mention of this - I didn't see any plugin or hack. If anyone knows of something that could fix this, please ignore my laziness and provide a solution.

it's meant to remember the collapsed state (and does so from my quick test). maybe try options -> browser -> uncheck 'show media monitor' when in the bento / big bento skin menus.

otherwise i've no idea about the rest of the things raised in your post as i don't use the thing.

Nope, it doesn't remember the setting. The show/hide media monitor in the skin menu you mentioned is the same as the button on the bottom right corner of the browser.

So I am on winamp.com and the media monitor is visible. I hide it and go on to another website (siriusxm radio). I hit home again, which takes me back to winamp.com and there media monitor is open again. It doesn't seem to remember the collapsed state. I noticed that it only pops up when it detects media available on a website. For example, it didn't show up on siriusxm.
I don't even have any plugins installed.

Hey I'm all right if it does remember the collapsed state. No complaints then...

i don't know then as for me it's remembering the state correctly unless something else in your install is stopping it from working. either way there's nothing i can aid in things as the person who worked on it is no longer doing things for Winamp and i've too much as is to even want to mess around in something that i personally never saw the point off. maybe it can be disabled in the skin somehow by removing some file(s) but i don't know.
