Plugins\dl\readme\images\rclicktrvpl.gif is un-deleteable.

still remain these folders.

dl folder > readme folder > images folder

other than that it seems ok to me.

It looks fine, just a crazy thought though...
Shouldn't Hungarian language be listed to the left too?
Or is it enough that it is listed as "Added" ?

The latest v1.03 I tested (which is the version in the zip on the server) has a compiled date of July 12th, the one that's included with the installer has a compiled date of July 10th...

July 15th, you posted this. I guess the only thing you updated was the version number that popped up when no readme was available and you clicked the help button. Hehe...

When I try to login and update it just says:

So...I dunno.

I just sent you an email via the plugins section. Did you get it on that e-mail address?

(and what about that compiled date? have you put in the right version now?)

I compiled the file again from the source. Then it should not be any problem.

I found out what the problem was...I was apparently logged in with the forums user...which I didn't use when I uploaded the plugin (way to go by me )

But okay...here goes nothing. Uploading 1.03.

The Winamp site seems a bit broken. I get some text on the page above the actual site when I press submit. And the plugin isn't taken off the site while unpublished...

Bugger :P

@siebe: I am not sure it will be called 1.1...there are a lot of new stuff...maybe it will qualify for 1.5 or even 2.0.

what version was the re-submit meant to be since i think the installer mentioned 1.01 still when i checked it but thought it was just for an updated language file since i don't remember seeing 1.03 mentioned in your text. also they've been messing around with the servers of late which may be causing other issues...

Resubmit is for v1.03. Also pictures should be updated but alas the messing with the servers won't allow it :P

did you try again and still no dice?

btw, just a question.
if i'm not mistaken, 9x version is based on v1.01. am i right?

the site is mentioning that "download language files from the language files page" in dl for 9x/me section.
however language version was updated.

i don't have 9x machine so i don't know whether v1.03 language files can be loaded in 9x/me version , but if not i think old language files should be included in gen_dl_9x.zip or should be uploaded in the site.

what do you think?

You don't need a 9x machine to test it since it runs fine on 2000 and XP too...

I have added the language files though to the zip-file.

The plugin is listed as unpublished now...same error though so I dunno.

Great...now the entire entry was lost it seems. All reviews, all downloads...just gone

When I try to resubmit it says the name is taken..
so I guess it's still there somewhere...just not connected to my user anymore. DrO, something you can do?

I've started messing around for a readme for 1.1 (or 2?).

I think we should do it differently than last time. There was too much text, and I doubt a lot of people have read it all. As saivert said earlier (I often disagreed with him, but this time he was right ), most features in DL speak for themselves and don't need explanation. I think we should focus on some main parts of DL (like roots, cache, etc.), and on some 'hidden' features (like Alt+drag is move files in playlists, hotkeys).

However, how to do that in a clear way?

I've made something here as a possible solution, but if anyone has better suggestions... Please don't comment on layout and tiny things: it's a mess

I've (re)moved a lot. Known issues don't really make sense in a readme coming with an installer, since if a version is officially released it is assumed that there are no issues. I also moved copyright&donation to the installation section, contact will probably go there as well (probably just a link to the contact page on the website). I know 'Installation' isn't a really good header now, so maybe this is not the best solution... I do think it's good to have the copyright, donation and contact info at the top though. Preferably in a clean way, without too many headers.

Other suggestions are very welcome.

I now have this:
http://nunzioweb.com/joonas/tempdoc/readme.html

Some questions though...

The Temp folder in the dl folder, what does it do?

Are you planning to make some kind of win9x/me version this time, or rather not?

Does anyone have an example replace.txt which I could use to explain that feature? I haven't really looked into it yet, but I guess it'd be good to mention and explain it.

Other comments/suggestions still welcome.

[edit]
Btw, I'd like to put a paypal button on the website (and readme), but I think you have to generate that code yourself or something.

For an example of what I mean, see DrO's site, at the bottom.

just a question.
are you tend to drop the v1.0x readme?

by the way, dynamic library has been featured! yay!

great news!
too bad all earlier reviews are lost...
(and all links to the previous location are useless now :/ )

As for the readme, yes, I think that's best?
So much has changed... I think it'll become too big and too bloated when we describe every menu entry and option in preferences: nobody is going to read all that.

We can probably use some parts of the old readme (copy/paste), but in my opinion we should now write it from another perspective: more focusing on difficult parts, instead of explaining every single option in there.

Maybe we should make a section 'Weird preferences', to explain all complicated options

But if you don't agree, please say so...

i don't think disagree but the v1.0x readme is very solid, so maybe should remain on the server and link to some kinda old versions section is good. just my opinion though.

as for the lost reviews and download counts.
i don't know able to get them back or not but more downloads and review are expected because of featured in the top page.

If others think the same, maybe we should just do it the same way as last time.
Or maybe on a separate page, all options explained, dunno...

In any case, the v1.0 will stay available as far as I'm concerned...

It was meant to be used by the temporary files...that part isn't done yet though...temporary files are created when you drag 'n drop playlists...

There's even more stuff in this version that wouldn't make it in a Win9x transfer...so no. I would prefer to get requests for some of the new features to get implemented into the 9x-version. Also it would be nice to actually finish up the 9x-version so it also can be properly released...but perhaps there isn't that much of a need for it (other than Nunz that is )

It's an easy format...

etc.

I'm wondering how many people are using the win9x/me version... (and no, there's no hidden argument in there; just something I'd like to know )

But a proper installer would be nice, yes. No reports about problems for a long time, it could then also get its own page on the website instead of on the Beta page...
Would an installer also include unicows.dll?

I agree with mrym, i see it as a dictionary, no one is going to read it from a to z, but if you want to look for something, it has to be in there. Some people might just not see the obvious A simplified version on a separate page would be ok but why the double work, with the Table of Contents it's easy enough to find something.
Just my opinion, It's all up to you Siebe.
Maybe some more opinions?

I never had any problem with DL, bt now there is only one little problem... One of my files, full of MP3 like the others, isn't recognized by DL... ML saw these MP3, but not DL...

My real question is with this file and those MP3 and not the others ????

it's meant to be going back into the loop along with a few more once i've had a chance to pick out and suggest a few others that could do with some pimpage (also the reason it was only up for a short while is because of some behind the scene changes, etc)

New website!
Please check if there are any dead links, since some pages were moved which may have broken things...

Suggestions/remarks welcome as well of course.

As for the readme, I'm not sure if I will be able to put equally as much time in it as last time (since this year I'll have a lot more work to do for study and stuff than last year). But we have a base to work on, so...

Anyone else willing to put some time in this?

spanish language file v1.03

Hi,
Congrats for this nice plugin. I just learned about it today.
I've been using v2x forever and heavily because I never really liked v5x, but I think I'm ready to start using it. I didn-t notice lite version until now.

Anyway, DL spanish lang file really sucked (at least for es-ES) and therefore I decided to update it. If you diff it, you'll notice very few lines have been kept unchanged.

I Hope someone may find it helpful

felichas... Its good that you just found the plugin. So you dont know that Joonas is rebuilding the entire thing. Im sure he would greatly appreciate you doing the spanish translation for DL2 when its done.

dl v1.1 beta this is the latest development thread. you may just want to subscribe to it, that way you'll know if joonas has updated it. (just dont bug him about it... I think he gets enough of that )

subscribe to the above thread

Im glad someone is gonna translate spanish properly... Its originally my translation, but i speak very little spanish.

Serbian translation

Hi to everyone!
I've made a serbian translation for the 1.03 version before i have seen that there allready is one on the web-site. I still think mine is much better so i'm posting it here, hoping it'll be on the official site.
Cheers!
