@Aminifu
Not sure if that's the same thing? fgb- seems to be describing something different....

@fgb-
Please could you describe in more detail the method you used to "update the album art of one single file".
Are all the source (mp3?) files in the same folder?
If yes, is there a folder.jpg file in this folder?

also, the art may be hidden/system files, or embedded, so you'll need to set windows to show hidden/system files and use another app like mp3tag to check for embeds.

Wrong Album Art

Hi,

I have a similar issue with v5.63 displaying the wrong album art. The scenario is:
  • 2x MP3's in same folder
  • Identical album names (i.e. Greatest Hits)

Winamp randomly picks which cover it displays. I've tried naming the .jpg files Artist - Great Hits.jpg and attaching them to the mp3 but next time the file is played Winamp still displays the wrong cover.

Thanks

Hi

Winamp will only see album art as follows:

1. Embedded in file (mp3, mp4/m4a, flac, ogg, wma)

2. %AlbumTitle%.jpg/.jpeg/.png/.gif/.bmp in the same folder as the music files
ie. exact same filename as the title of the album (see faq link below about replacement of 'illegal' chars)

3. Via an .nfo file with the same filename as an image file in the same folder as the music files,
eg. Artist - GreatHits.nfo & Artist - GreatHits.jpg

4. cover.jpg/.jpeg/.png/.gif/.bmp in the same folder as the music files

5. albumart.jpg/.jpeg/.png/.gif/.bmp in the same folder as the music files

6. front.jpg/.jpeg/.png/.gif/.bmp in the same folder as the music files

7. folder.jpg/.jpeg/.png/.gif/.bmp in the same folder as the music files

More info (from the FAQ):

"attaching them to the mp3"? meaning what exactly?

winamp doesn't itself embed artwork, it only places it in the folder.

for my part, i do one album = one folder and this works well with nearly everything. if for some reason you don't want to do that, you could amend the album title in the tags, eg:

Greatest Hits (Aerosmith)

and then make the file jpg name match that.

Oh, you meant two songs in the same folder from different "Greatest Hits" albums by different artists?
