winamp556_pro_all.exe: Win.Trojan.Ramnit-1735 FOUND

I downloaded the latest update for Winamp recently from winamp.com. My NAS is claiming that it is a trojan:

/Installables/Installs/Winamp/winamp556_pro_all.exe: Win.Trojan.Ramnit-1735 FOUND

Is this thing safe, or should I revert to an older version that never got flagged by my virus scanner?

The latest version of Winamp is 5.666 build 3516, and the direct link is this
http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/...6_full_all.exe
Also, the older versions of Winamp which I have are clean, there's no virus inside them.

Thanks. I see that this is an older version I have stored that it is complaining about (from 2009). I also have winamp5666_full_all.exe stored in that same share that it did not complain about.

This is most likely a false alarm.

Is winamp pro still supported ? Can the demo / full pro be downloaded ? or is the free version the only one left ?

You can use the pro installer, and it will work like the normal version.
Saving MP3s is disabled and CD ripping limited to 8x

Jamil, get a better AV package !
If it just complained about a file you have had since 2009, it would have been too late if it was a virus.
4 years too late !
Visit the VB100 site and make your choice

Add Virus Total to your browser and you can check all DLs before you get them.

This is my network storage box When I first bought it, it actually didn't do any virus scanning at all. A newer firmware added the feature later. It updates itself every day, so the false alarm was due to an update from last night probably.

The pro can still be downloaded from the front page. Just click on the bit that says "Already own Winamp and need to upgrade?" as that gives you this URL http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/...6_full_all.exe

As to false AV detection... that has been going on ever since AV first appeared. It is one of the main reasons for the Quarantine folder.
