Frequency notch filtering possible?

Hi. I am an unfortunate sufferer of tinnitus. I read a research paper where they found that by listening to music with a frequency range removed matching your tinnitus for an hour a day can help reduce the tinnitus. For those interested in the study you can read the research here.

On the tinnitus support forums it has been found that you can reproduce this yourself by using an audio editor like Cooledit to filter those frequencies. You can read about it here.

Now I can do that using Cooledit but it means I have to manually process each music file.

I was wondering if there is a plugin filter for Winamp that could possibly reproduce this 'on-the-fly'? This would allow me to listen to any music with that frequency notch removed.

Yes? No?

Yeah, I'm looking for the same!
I think an advanced Equalizer with can do the same.
I just has to filter/dim a very small range of frequencies in the music.

Same here. I think such a plugin could really easily be accomplished. Unfortunately i don't have the resources at the moment to dig deeper into this.

Any update on the topic?
