What happened to auto tagging?
I installed Winamp on a recently-formatted Windows 7 PC. I tried to auto tag some songs but the button is nowhere to be found. Am I missing something?

I don't have Windows 8, but did you look at the lower right corner of the basic info tab of the unified tag editor? Select a song and press Alt+3.

Sorry, I meant Win 7. If I click on Alt+3 the pop-up appears as expected, but there was some kind of Auto Tag button (around the OK button) which I now can't see.

Maybe when you ran the installer 'Auto-Tagger' was unchecked? I'd re-run the installer and make sure that option is checked. It's under Winamp Library when it asks you to choose the components to install.

Yes, lostinsound that must be it.
Moshka, select the custom install mode and look at everything to be sure you have installed what you want and remove the optional things that you don't. I think Mp3tag provides more accurate tags than Gracenote (which supports the Winamp feature). But that is another issue. ![]() Windows 10 Home 64-bit v20H2 desktop - Logitech Z906 5.1 speaker system |
