just a design i've been working on..

what do you think?
i reckon i'll make is maximizable, and add a tabbed interface so you can switch between components easily in this mode.

Great design, I like the style!

But... Is that third line of songinfo (it says "Future Perfect") the album? Because I, and I think I'm not the only one, never give up the album name. It would be ugly if it would display something like "My Shared Folder"

then, like some notifiers do.

Oh and try to make it able to use few resources too

because I like metallic skins, and there'll be colour themes anyway, so it's not a big deal

yea, probably me too...
I've been looking for a way to make a switch without pain for several years now..

if we're lucky tho, someone will finally reverse engineer the skin engine, with maki, and be done with it.
there's already the maki decompiler available, so maki _should_ be easy enough (for someone with experience) to reverse engineer. and maki has always been the biggest problem. In fact .wal support without maki already exist in some players (very limited tho). Beep (BMP, the xmms fork) has it for example, and I'm hoping the author will reverse engineer maki aswell.

got that working so far. album art searches playing files folder for an image (*might* include a browser for that). need to add more buttons, but that ties in with tabs so don't have to do it just yet

good layout, will be an excellent fullscreen skin. and yes too bad about the extra tabs, it would be nice to use dynamic library in a tab.

Looks awsome. One little request. Could you make it possible to float the playlist? I don't like the idea of not being able to have the video and playlist windows on screen at the same time.
