Removing trax in Playlist Editor pane has no affect on playlist in WA Library pane

Steps:

0) Select playlist in left-side panel in Winamp Library window

1) Right-click on WA Library panel title bar and select Playlist Editor; selected playlist is displayed in panel titled Playlist Editor

2) Select and remove desired tracks; close Playlist Editor

3) Select something else in the left-side panel of the WA Library window, then re-select the edited playlist (to try to "refresh" view)

4) Item count displayed between the playlist display panel and the command buttons is the same as before the editing of the playlist

Additional steps:

5) Restart Winamp

6) Still no change in item count

Winamp 5.572 (x86)
Windows 7 Home Premium, updated
Pentium Dual-Core T4300
2.87 GB usable RAM
64 bit

Correct. Changes made in the Playlist Editor window are not reflected in the Media Library playlists.
You would need to remove all items in the saved playlist in the ML then import active playlist (via Manage Playlist button).

That's just the way that it is. The way it's always been.
Playlists are just lists of tracks. They're not database driven like the Local Media views.
The playlist editor window has no idea whether tracks are loaded into it via the ML, another playlist, windows, from anywhere.
To edit a ML playlist you'd need to edit it in the ML..

What's the rationale behind having two different kinds of playlists?

media library playlists are just intended as a repository of playlists.

the playlist editor is just a place where you can create a playlist which the player will then use to play from.

the two forms are not connected in any form and hence why you see what you do. it's also because the ml playlists are just another plug-in and with no interface/means for the playlist editor to know where things have come from then there's no way to track things back to the playlist they originated from (especially if you add multiple playlists to the playlist editor).

maybe it is something which should be resolved (and possibly should have been done when 2.9x was released when the media library and media library playlists were introduced) but i doubt it's something that will change with how things are implemented in the player. this is also part of the reason why the media library playlists allow you to edit them (in a similar manner to the playlist editor's features).
