as far as I know, there are no good free CD burning programs. Usually things like that are costly to design and make them work, so the developers will ask for a fee. Oh, by the way, I don't know that much so there could be one. Actually, there is a Winamp 2.x plugin to brun CDs directly from Winamp. But a Cd burning program is always better than a free Winamp plugin.

If you really really want something free really badly, try Kazaa. If you are willing to use ILLEGAL software, that is the full program available to you for free. Very dishonest, but I've made dozens of CDs with my illegal copy of Nero. So if you want to, go into Kazaa and search in software for "Nero", that is definitely the best CD burning program of all. Very easy to use but also can be technical if you want. It is probably compatible with Windows XP.

Hope this helps.

I know that you can download (illegally) from IMesh, or KaZaA, 'Adaptec Easy CD Creator', 4+ and it's likely to work on XP. I have the legal copy of it(4), and it works just fine on my XP.

Disclaimer: I in no way condone or Approve of the downloading, or use of illegally aquired, Pirated Software

*sigh* Just to hammer home sawg's point: Windows XP natively supports CD burning. With no extra programs. Just Windows. That's right.

If your CD-R/CD-RW drive is d: (for instance) just open up d: in My Computer and drag-n-drop your files onto the window (making sure you have a blank CD in d:, obviously).

Then click "File > Write these files to CD" and you're done. In fact, I'm doing it as I type this.

There's no need to tell me when I'm right;
I operate on that principle exclusively and with absolute certainty

Opinion: To Each His Own

Haven't used Nero, I'm speaking from my standpoint, and I've used CD Creator, It hasn't done anything wrong, so I think it's Pretty Damn good.

I was gonna say something like that.

Fazer, you haven't used Nero so how do you know it's not better? I could only burn like 650MB of data onto a 700MB CD when I was using Easy CD. But with Nero i could do a full 700.

No see, you're missing my point, and you didn't read my post at all.
I never said CD Creator was better than Nero. I said I hadn't used Nero, and that in my Opinion CD Creator was fine. You're the one's forcing your opinions down the throats of others.

Shut your mouth and open your ears. (Or eyes in this case)

Beginner.... At least I'm not one of those damn AOLers, not saying you are, but you might be. And I can work Lightwave 7 out the ass, so don't give me any beginner crap. Opinionated Shmucks.

I'll just download it and see how lame it is.

AOLer? LEMME AT HIM! LET ME AT HIM!

Sure you can use Lightwave like a genius, but a Football player (Cricket for non-american countries) can not take the place of a ballerina, nor vice versa. Yes, there are exceptions, but how often do they come? What man that plays the manliest of sports cleans and dresses in spandex and leaps on his toes? Nobody I can think of.

All I am just saying is to take every job from step one, no matter what else you can do.

Nero if you need to do anything more than just basic backups/audio cd's. Otherwise just use XP's built in cd burning software.
