In your PM you mentioned that [Paste] is the only button that worked for embedding art. However, I noticed that when I went to try it with a file that didn't have any art at all that button is greyed out and the only way I could specify artwork is with both [Load Artwork] and [Paste Artwork] buttons. I'm actually wondering if you're using the latest version of Winamp v5.666 Build 3516 since with what you're describing, you shouldn't even be able to use the button you described unless the file already has artwork either embedded in it or associated with it in the first place. I also tried it with folder cover art already set for a file and I get consistent results with both [Paste Artwork] and [Paste]. I can't seem to be able to replicate your problem.

The command you are looking for is 'XPStyle on'. As far as I know it's been available since forever.

This is a minor issue that I ain't even going to dwell on but I will integrate the changes for the next release.

I was hoping that this plugin would not change the Winamp MP3 File to match that
of the cover art that I embeded. I am using Win 10 Home. Is this plugin compatable
with Win 10? I am using WINAMP 5.8. The BlogProg plugin is V 1.1.5.14

Any assistance is appreciated.

How about a separate plugin for album art lookups like the way I blabbed in post 182 EAC does them?

It could save the art to folder, or pass it to this plugin to embed... if eac can do it!!

I wanted to add (^) the fact that the Blogprog will create a cover.jpg
It isn't any different then when I used winamp to embed artwork.

I was also using another mp3 Tag editor and noted that I can embed cover art and if the
Mp3 file is located on the desktop then the icon will resemble the cover art embed.
Now, if that same file is copied to a folder then the artwork is embed but the icon
for the file is of a generic type

Change the view in the folder to "Medium icons" and see what happens.

When I change the file explorer to small/list/details - then the MP3 file icon is that of the
default mp3 player. If view is set to other then what I just listed - the embeded album art
is seen. I can deal with that issue in file explorer - it's on the desktop where the embeded
art work is shown. I had viewed a video where blogprog was supposed to take care of that
very issue but it doesn't for me in Win 10.

I don't think there exist any MP3 tagger that will embed artwork and not embed it into
the default player icon so that is doesn't show if located on the desktop.

In Explorer's View tab, go to
Options > Change folder and search options > View tab > Advanced Settings > Files and Folders > check-mark at "Always show icons, never thumbnails"

That works! Only thing was I have a few jpg files on my desktop and it looks like the
default jpg icon reverted from a small size preview image to the icon of the file associated to open the jpgs. The actual mp3 file with embedded artwork now displays with the winamp icon.
Had to open the MP3 to see if the artwork was still there and sure enough is was.
I had to copy the same MP3 to a random folder just to see what the icon would look like
and the small winamp icon displays.



The only sacrifice is that any any all jpgs or program associated with any jpg/jpeg/gif/ etc will bear the icon of the file associated with them.

Edit: I guess it all boils down to if I want to see preview jpg icons or the
icon of the program associated with them.

BTW: how does one edit there thread after it's posted. Didn't see and
edit icons anywhere......

R u sure this isn't just something specific to u? I think others would have posted the issue if true.

I can vouch if it is specific to me all I know is that after watching the youtube video on how to use the blogprog winamp program to make embedded cover art, my results were not exactly as per video i.e. after embedding cover art. it created a cover.jpg on the desktop.
The demo I assume was done on a desktop and I didn't see any extra files generated like I did, + the fact the MP3 icon was same as the cover.jpg. Thought that wasn't suppose to happen.

My plugin appears to still be working even with the latest 5.8.0.3660 beta version of Winamp. It currently seems to be something on your end.

As suggested, I will need an Info Tool report.


btw, my dba is spelled "BogProg", not "Blogprog", there's no "L".

It seems that your embedded album art plug-in is not working for mp3s with my configuration with Winamp v5.9.1.10023. It was working fine with v5.666.3516.

If you are able to verify this issue I hope there is a relatively simple fix. I really need this plug-in to work. If not I can go back to v5.666.3516 .

Unfortunately I was unable to replicate your issue with the latest published version of Embedded Art and Winamp v5.9.1.10023 on Windows 10 or Windows 11. Can you send me a sample file it's not working on?

I was unable to replicate the issue with version 1.2.7.25 of the plugin. I didn't test with version 1.2.2.17. I tried directly replacing the album art without first deleting and tried deleting first and then adding the art. No issues, at least on my end.

If you recently downloaded it then you likely have the latest version, so as I said, nevermind. Just post an Info Tool Report. Only thing I can think of is another plugin getting in the way.

I rebooted my computer and now your embedded album art plug-in is working. I don't know why rebooting changed things. I'm just glad it is working again.

Maybe it is the order in which the plug-ins are loaded. I don't think Winamp loads the plug-ins the same way each time it is started.

I just looked at your info report and confirmed that you're using the latest published versions of the w5s component and dll front end.

Just to confirm, is "Quinto Black CT" a cPro skin? I think it is but just want to confirm.

In theory with the way the Winamp API works (afaik) it shouldn't. "bpembededart.w5s" does not directly use any Windows system components let alone any that would be effected by a reboot, it's pure Winamp WASABI API and some SendMessages if I remember correctly.

The order that Winamp system components are loaded DOES matter. If bpembededart.w5s is loaded before albumart.w5s then it can't "hook" it, at least not currently. If this is the case then I'll probably have to move everything to the front end dll.

"If bpembededart.w5s is loaded before albumart.w5s then it can't "hook" it", sounds like what probably happened the first time I tried using the plug-in. I do not know how to determine the loading order. If it stops working again, I'll try starting a new session to see if the plug-in starts working.

AFAIK, Quinto Black CT v3.6 is not a cPro skin. There are no cPro components installed with Winamp v5.9.1.10023.

Changes:

• Added display of the core Winamp 5 System Component basic version string to the configuration pane. Unfortunately I didn't update the lang files but it won't crash if the new controls are missing from the language files.
• Added code to check for load/presence of the actual albumArtAPI component and if fails to find it then it assumes that it's not loaded yet and posts a message to itself to check again later.
• Fixed the version string returned by api_bogprogembededart::Version to always return the current version string in the file's version information header instead of a hardcoded value. Whoops.

Installer changes:

• Installer no longer kills all Winamp instances, just the ones targeted.
