I downloaded about 3 or 4 different visulization plugins from this site and installed them, but none of them show up in the plugins/visualization menu in winamp. I looked in the plugins folder, and they're all there, winamp just dosent seem to recognize them. I reinstalled the new version of winamp, and it still dosent work. any ideas why its not recognizing the plugins?

This is a bit of a long-shot, but it might help: Winamp can be configured to use seperate folders for visualization and DSP plugins. Some of the older plugins come with an old version of the PIMP installer that doesn't detect what folder you have configured winamp to use, and just put the plugins in the default folder. Check that the plugins are in the same folder that winamp is configured to use:
Press Ctrl + P
Click "Plug-ins"
Check the path in the "Visualization plug-in directory"
