Playing MP3s. Volume is low but sounds like my speakers are maxed out, like bass is way too high. Speakers are fine with Games. Have 2 sattelites and subwoofer. Used to sound great. Tried reinstalling Winamp but same problem. Any ideas? Thanks!

i think I may have a simlar problem with an Pentium 233MMX system on a VIA CHipset Mobo with an Aztech 2320 ISA PNP soundcard.

First of all, driver installation from Aztech is pretty odd, not performed the usual way Windows likes. But it works.
MP3 Playback is terrible. Fluttering and oscillations in the sound are audible. Nothing like my system with a SoundBlaster 32 PNP. This is both in Winamp and Sonique.
HOWEVER, playback of Wavs is fine, in Windows Media player, BUT not in Winamp.

It's a bit odd, that when using Winamp to convert a Mp3 to Wav, both files play like crap in Winamp, but the output wav plays cleanly in Media player...

Very odd.

Try tweaking the Sound Card properties in the device manager? It seems to have help me a bit, but not much... :-(
