Help with skin upgrade please?

I'd like to upgrade my Orion skin a bit. Basically, I want to add another pane to it that incorporates the album art, song progress bar, artist name, and song name.

I currently use Samurize for this, but that's the ONLY thing I ever use Samurize for... I'd like to get away with just one program doing both if possible.

You can see Orion's main interface here:

And the Samurize script I'm working on integrating into the skin here:

I've broken down the elements in the Samurize script to their x,y coordinates:
code:
cover art
x = 20
y = 16
width = 178
height = 178

song progress
x = 21
y = 195
width = 176
height = 1

artist name
x = 20
y = 194
width = 178
height = 19

song name
x = 20
y = 207
width = 178
height = 19

I've already created the album art pane, and then defined the locations for the artist name and song name.

But I can only get it to show as "artist - song name" no matter what selector I put for the songticker text. Also, I'm trying to specify the tahoma font, 9pt for the artist and song name fields and not having any luck. So I'd need some help to get the proper text to display.

As for the cover art, I know that Winamp can't go fetch the album art from amazon.com like Samurize can, and that's ok. I've got all my files tagged appropriately with art images. I'd like something like how ClearOneBeta works where it just loads it from a local file, and I'd like the image to be shown at 178x178 regardless of it's true size (either shrink or stretch the image to fit 178x178).

The last thing is the song progress bar, just a 1px high line that goes across as the song is being played. It's read-only, so clicking on it or dragging on it will not cause the song to seek to another point.

Any help I could get on this would be greatly appreciated. I could offer a PayPal donation in your name if you help, or a free license to my software product Notebook.

I have posted the current development version of Orion to http://www.spuler.us/winamp/orion/Orion2.wal this post, so you can have what I was working with.

I'll do it exactly like you want, for free. How about it?

Here's a link to the beta of the upgrade to Orion. There are a few things unfinished, that I'm still working on. Axialix has severe network problems and won't be able to help any more, but RPeterClark has agreed to help out some.

Here are the outstanding bugs:
• maki script error on startup -- unknown cause
• 1px high song progres bar 2px underneath the cover art picture needs to be added (like in Samurize script)
• disable ablility to manually resize cover art window by dragging corners
• toggle between the 178x178 size and original by clicking on the image instead of the right-click menu
• a better smoothing function for the cover art picture
• if the song/artist name is too long, it will be cropped instead of scrolling

I've narrowed down the maki script error on startup to the scripts/system.maki file, and this is called in the skin.xml file. The system.maki script has the right-click menu for the cover art image. It doesn't control the resizing of the image, just the right-click menu for it.

It also controls the text on the cover art as well, because when the script is removed, the text isn't shown as
artist
song

but rather
artist - song
artist - song

My ISP decided to shut me down and remove my site so I guess you're on your own to finish up Orion.
Wish I could help more but don't know when they'll fix my line.

So I'm looking for help if anyone is willing to offer it...

How can I change the text color for a selected (non-playing) item in the playlist window?

I'm assuming it's an id in the elements-colors.xml file, but not sure which one. Thanks in advance...

I'm afraid it isn't possible in Winamp5 anymore. You can only set the text color of all inactive items in the list, without the difference whether an item is selected or not. Click

Updated the skin a little bit. Fixed snap points on windows, and added a progress bar to the cover art pane. The progress bar is selectable if you want to skip to other portions of the currently playing song.

Outstanding bugs are as follows
Critical:
• Maki error on startup
• Song/Artist scrolls when too long, but it cuts off some on either side
• Better function for cover art scaling & ability to load *.png images
• Some sort of visibility for non-currently playing (but selected) items in the playlist window. maybe a dotted outline?

Non-critical:
• disable ablility to manually resize cover art window by dragging corners
• toggle between 178x178 and original size of cover art image by clicking on the image instead of the right-click menu (irrelevant if better scaling routine is found)

Did some updating tonight...
• Cleared out the Maki error on startup
• Added the ability to load *.png images for cover art in addition to *.jpg images
• Made cover art pane on by default

I am still looking for help on the following issues. If you can assist in any way,please let me know.

Moved the file to my server since some people had trouble reaching it at the other one. I've been out of town on business travel and haven't had the chance to move it until now.

I am proud to announce the re-release of Orion. I set out to incorporate a Samurize script for cover art display into the skin and achieved it, along with other enhancements.

• All windows skinned with the glass borders
• Cover art pane added
• Updates to Media Library & Playlist windows

The cover art pane does not search on the internet if art is missing for a song. It looks locally in the directory the currently playing MP3 is stored for an image file. The following names are valid (replace .xxx with .jpg or .png): cover.xxx, coverart.xxx, folder.xxx, front.xxx
