only <streamstatus> on my (Wordpress) site

Hi to all, for first sorry for my terrible english.
I have a big problem: I can't put on my site the <streamstatus> tag from the XML file of Shoutcast.
There are a lot of scripts in PHP language but my site hosting provider can't run PHP script for read file in external server (my site is in a server, shoutcast in onther one) because it is shared Hosting.
The only way is it a client solution like JavaScript?
I 'd like only the stream status:
A) the server stream something -> ON image with a link
B) the server doesn't stream -> OFF image with a link
