Winamp Freezing, Help PLEASE.

I haven't posted here before, although I have perused the logs of threads in search of answers. I have checked back a few times, but have not found an answer. I gave up on WinAmp a few months back because when I open it, it freezes my PC.

. I have never had this happen with any other program
. I have deleted and reinstalled winamp several different times, several different ways
. I have been using WinAmp for as long as I can remember as my sole music player and it breaks my heart that I can't use it. It is truly the superior music player for me.

.I open winamp and it plays for a few moments, then freezes my entire pc.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I have 4 gigs of ram and a dual core 2.0ghz processor and two 1gig Nvidia 9600GT graphics cards. As I said before, I have zero problems with any other programs.

Please help, I have not been able to find a suitable alternative with a comparable search feature coupled with minimal system clogging.

make sure your drivers are all up to date.

make sure you are using 5.621

make sure you do a CLEAN uninstall. search the forums for it, follow the directions. use ccleaner.com too.

you might need to do a "onefornunz" list, either in app or standalone. see if winamp freezes by just opening it, and NOT playing a file.

PENN STATE Radio or http://www.LION-Radio.org/
BUG #1 = Winamp skips short tracks
Wish #1 = Multiple Column Sorting
Wish #2 = Add TCMP/Compilation editing
