They are called 'sigs'

Ok to make a sig image (really easy), just open MS paint or Photoshop, or Paint Shop Pro and use crazy colors and weird fonts and create an image for yourself. Save it as a jpg and upload it to a site (if you have one), If you don't, I can host it or someone here can.

I can also host sigs for you if you need. Just email me or pm me. I have tons of space on my site.

On the darker background the hex code is F8F8F8. On the lighter background it's F8FCF8. Replace the color name with one of those codes.

actually, the darker color is

#F8F8F8

and

#FEFEFE for the whiter color.

#FFFFFF for solid white

I have a nifty little program that will give me the color code to whatever my mouse is over

I did said F8F8F8 was the darker color. ColorPad (the "color picker" I use), says the lighter color is FFFCFF, F8FCF8, or FFFFFF (depending on where I have the mouse). And I know solid white is FFFFFF.

Correctamundo!

'Tis easier to view source. It tells us on the page.

That's cool. And the source code does say it is FEFEFE. But they are probably so close the naked eye couldn't tell the difference.

Test #FEFEFE
Test #F8FCF8
Test #FFFFFF

<Well, I can see a difference in the #F8FCF8 in the larger size text. Guess I'll be downloading HTMLcolor. >

See how fun the forums are Kamal?

randman, you've just got your display set to show less than 32 bit color. you're probably at 16 bit high color. that means you can't show every single possible rbg color combination. there are 256^3 or 24bits per pixel. so the browser dithers the background with three colors it can display. colorpad is just picking out the color the video card displays, not the color the browser intended. but the difference between FE and F8 is 6 (out of 256) so the difference isn't very noticeable.

"View Source" requires you to look through tons of HTML coding. And when you do find a hex code you aren't 100% sure it's the one you're looking for. And ColorPad is under 150KB (which is smaller than the html file used to produce this page), no install required, and it's skinnable.

OK, OK! I just like toys.
