Overlay Mode issue

I have Windows 7, and am having issues getting the Overlay Mode for Winamp's AVS to work the way I want.

I have read a post saying that Overlay Mode does not work with Windows 7, but this is inaccurate. If you set the theme to Windows Classic, the overlay mode works fine... but I don't particularly like the look of Windows Classic, and would much prefer to use the Windows 7 themes.

The fact that it works while in the Windows Classic theme suggests to me that there must be some setting somewhere in Windows 7 themes that conflicts with Overlay Mode, but I'm at a loss as far as finding out what setting or where it might be located.

i assume this is related to aero, hence this will happen with all themes using (?) aero.

as someone pointed out, you can disable that in the compatibility mode for winamp. i don't know how, but it's mentioned in this thread.
