Help--skipping songs???

ok, i've searched for about an hour but can't find any information on this:
i drag and drop a song in my player but it only plays for say, 15-25 seconds and then goes hay-wire... you can't even hear the song anymore, its just this metal scrapping sound...
i even downloaded winamp5, but no help-- same problem
the weird thing about is that it only happens on certain main stream songs and not others...
please reply soon, i feel deprived of certain songs!

sounds like their VBR mp3's that have been corrupted(could be from a bad download)

try downloading the songs again(from a different source)

this often happens when a file is started then stoped then resumed again later.(over and over)
