Device metadata sync

I have my library sync'd to my phone using the winamp device detection & sync. Sometimes I change some of the tags of my mp3's (publisher, genre etc.), but it doesnt seem to refresh the mp3's on my phone with these tags. I have it set to delete the songs on the device which are not in the local library, but if the tags are changed it doesnt seem to mark them as a different song.
