Configuring Shoutcast for SAM
I've installed a Shoutcast on my Centos server and it works fine with Winamp. It appears I only needed to run sc_serv for this, in a pretty basic configuration.
I now want to use the same server with SAM. I disconnected Winamp and connected with SAM - everything seems fine except there are no sound coming out. The log shows track information to it's connected ok, so I guess the problem is something about mp3 encoding. I've tried to wrap my brain around sc_trans, but no luck. sc_trans_basic.conf seems to think most people would be using a playlist file on the server. Can you please guide me to how to set this up? Thanks much!! |

if sc_serv works with winamp and not with SAM, I'd say the issue is with SAM. spacialaudio have a support forum full of helpful advice

Well the docs say something about having to use sc_trans and an mp3 license to play mp3 from anything but Winamp - if I understand it right. I don't mind buying an mp3 license but I need to know what to do with it.
Thanks for the hint, unfortunately I don't have any teenagers around I can ask here, but perhaps someone is reading this and know the answer. ![]() |

Did you setup SAM with the encoder information? And connect? And it shows its encoding with not error messages "on SAM" ?
