Windows Aero support

I run Windows 7 64-bit and quite enjoy the customizable "Aero" user interface that it provides.

Many of my apps adhere to a consistent look, with the transparent glass color of my choice defined in the personalization panel and looks really nice strewn about my desktop.

Winamp, however, stands completely out without the transparent borders matching the rest of my OS.

Would it be possible to add a way to add a 'skin' where Winamp just uses the native windows look and feel? That way it will look and feel like the rest of my apps running on the desktop?

Perhaps there could be a whole new skinset altogether... Skins for winamp that use standard windows caption bars and borders, but skin everything inside them? That way winamp can at least show the glass part from the OS theme.

Though, a skin that makes the entire player a glass panel (like WMP in Vista) would be really cool too.

Winamp doesn't use standard Windows framing, that's not changing. if you want a skin that looks more like Aero, try the skin section.

That's the thing, the only aero skins available, still will not make it consistent with my OS. the transparency found on them is not foggy like the rest of my windows. I just want winamp to look like all my other apps do.

A skin isn't going to accomplish it.

Then you might want to look for a different Media Player.

Can you be a little bit more kind?

Hey man, I have used Winamp since the version 2, I bought a pro licence about 4 years ago and never, nobody from winamp, has been so rude as you! We as clients and user wish to have a feature like Aero Support, a lot of people will ask for it in the next months I can assure it, and answer: "Then you might want to look for a different Media Player." ?? Why?? You could answer something like "Your wish would require a major function change, at this moment we haven't thinked about that" or something like this!

You really need to evaluate this feature, you could gain a lot of maket with it, and Windows 7 jump list features!

Next time, don't be so rude with your clients!

I use the cPro_Ebonite skin and that fits perfectly with a darkly themed w7.
I agree that winamp could use some of the aero stuff that most w7 apps use.
I really hoped the latest version, which said "windows 7 compatible" (I guess it's like sony blu-rays being "ps3 compatible") to include the aero snap at least with the visualization window but no-joy, hopefully someone will make a plug-in or something.

& why the hate in this thread?

silly me he seemed to be stating the obvious and gave the reason why it would not be possible. Why are people so hung up on a "consistent look" then everything application
would look the same.

It’s a fragile thing, this life we lead, if I think too much, I can’t get over
