Christmas Is Upon Me.. LOL!!

I love this spunky little Irish redhead I married 20 years ago, more than life itself...(Have known her for 22, dated for a cpl yrs then got married)

For those 20 years I have seen my home magically transformed the weekend after halloween *Yep..Ya read right*.. to a Christmas Store/Wonderland..LOL!!

As you can see by the pic...The saga of the 2 month Christmas continues at the Knight's Home and it started today (Sunday Oct 31) ..

How bout ya'll when does the home start looking Christmassy??

Ok...It's Semi Finished..LOL!

It will be rearranged many, many times between now and Christmas...Yep!!

There is alot more than what's seen here..It would take me forvever to Click and Post..

If i had a wife who did that at this time of year, i'd be straight down the Magistrates court to get a divorce. I hate Christmas decorations when they're up to early. December the 22nd i find is the best time to put them up

I decorate the weekend after thanksgiving and it takes me right up until the week before Christmas to get them all out.

When she gets done at your house, she can certainly come to my house and decorate.

Funny, I was just going to put a thread in the bitchlist about Christmas shopping.

Quite.
Xmas at best should at least be left until December, anymore is just plain old overkill

Mrs Jones put our (minimal) decoration up on dec 24th last year, and took them down Jan 1st, if I could only trade her in for a model that didn't bother with such trivial things I'd be more than happy.

Christmas , no thanks.

Your Honor..We have irreconcilable differences in our decorating habits and find we can no longer go on like this..

I'll have to try that

Actually..It used to get to me years ago, a little...Doesn't bother me any more. I kinda got used to it and it's cosy to say the least..

I am a sucker at Christmas...I really am.

I love Christmas decorations, and usually when someone
doesn't have any idea what to get me, they get me that because I love it.

I am also very bad about buying presents...the sky is the limit for Christmas. I don't "spoil" my daughters too much
during the year by buying whatever they want everytime we go into a store. But I will fight tooth and nail to make sure I get them whatever they want at Christmas.

At my parents', my mom is the artist and dad is the slave labor during the traditional after Thanksgiving of Christmas decorating. I wouldn't do as much as mom for my own place, but, she does great job for her house.

As jaz is agnostic/atheist, it'll be interesting to see how much decoration I can get away with.

On a side note, we don't do anything "Christmassy" until after Thanksgiving. Most people tend to forget about that holiday. And no, I do not go to the stores for Black Friday.

I don't decorate for Christmas at all in my home, the past few years we didn't even have a christmas tree, I just save the money and get something I really want for it. I guess I'm not just one of those romantic holiday decorating loving people

I noticed the shops suddently got in lots of Christmas stuff at the end of October, it seems to get earlier every year. Also, cause we don't do much for Halloween and don't celebrate Thanksgiving, it probably comes in a little earlier.

We generally put a tree up at the start of December, and maybe a few extra decorations around the house closer to the time.

Nah, I haven't been getting anything really the past years and I don't expect to get anyhting this time as I don't really celebrate it. I give some of my closest friends small gifts to show my appreciation that they are there but I don't expect anything at all in return, it would turn the whole sense of giving into something stupid, I just give because I want to not because I want something bigger and better back

Hard To Buy For..

My Wife and Daughters have a hard time buying for me..I don't usually wait until a special day..IE; Christmas/Birthdays to get what I want..

I've always figured if I need it..I need it now..LOL!! Not 3 months from now, so I usually just go out and get what I need, without waiting for presents..

But kids are worth every penny that you sacrifice

When I lived in GA before I did not decorate the house because we spend the holidays in NY. For the past 2 years I decorated and this year I am not sure. The boys will be in NY for the holiday but Scor and I will be here in GA. I feel that christmas is very commercialized. I dont go overboard for presents. My family gets gifts all year round. To pick up something, even something little all year I feel is special rather than maxing out the credit cards at Christmas time.

~ Missy
Ps Magnum you do have a beautiful home.

that's why I have a Christmas club account. I don't use
credit cards unless its an absolute emergency. If I don't have the cash, I just don't get it.

Hey there Missy..Nothing special, just decorated for the season coming..It keeps the cold out.. Thanks, Though

I agree many have commercialized the Christmas Meaning Or Spirit..Many have changed the name or have chosen not to celebrate at all..All kinds of changes in the world concerning the Christmas Season..

Well...That would be their choice, not mine or my families..I've always been a bugger for following my own *Heart*...The warmth of the season and the decorations that abide have always and will always be a part of this home..Just because it feels good...My wife has always been a bit early with her ideals,(Which Is Fine).

It's better than being late.. LOL!!

Just An Additive...

I've been lifting weights and kickboxing since I was in my early twenties..I kind of look at the initiation of the Christmas Spirit the same way I do at working out...

The first few times of sitting at the benches and grunting weights off your chest or struggling to get back into the shape you have once held is always the worst part of any routined workout session...

Once you have the routine into your system it then becomes much easier and more acceptable to the point of enjoyment, actually.

Dragging out the Christmas decorations and stringing my wifes mindset on the walls and furniture is always the initiation that I really *Don't Care For*.. LOL!!

Sitting in the warmth of the lights at night, sitting on the couch with my wife,TV on, good flick playing, PC on yappin at someone on the net or posting my opinion around the world.. LOL!! ..Having a coffee, egg nog or hot chocolate (I don't drink alcohol, My wife drinks sometimes though),inviting friends over and enjoying the special feeling of the Christmas Spirit is always worth the initiation...
