Fire the singger (aka "Bands whose music should've stayed instrumental)

Simple: the music is great but oh boy, the singing ruins it.

Two bands spring to mind: Mercury Rev and Sigur Ros.

What are yours?

I agree with Sigur Ros
I often can't deal with the singer in bands like opeth, either.

Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

Yeah, I thought you'd like that one

Honestly though, I think Neil Tennant has one of the worst , and I use the word loosely, singing voices out there.

For years he didn't even sing over the tracks, but talked the lyrics instead.

Chris Lowes music can stand on it's own without him, Relentless was the better album for not having Tennant singing on most of the tracks.

Don't forget he's not a trained musician/singer, but a Journalist by trade...

I guess Tennant's voice is a "love it or hate it" kind of thing. After all, that's the whole purpose of this thread

But still
