Murdered threads

So, I'm running into a snafu with an update with one of my plugins. Every now-and-then one of my threads just goes away (along with it's associated message window) and I can't figure out why. The debugger doesn't catch any exceptions and the state of the involved variables, class instances, and what-not all appear normal. The heap validates and everything. Just suddenly, and without warning, the thread just goes buh-bye leaving everything a ghost town; all the stuff is there, just no thread.

Does Winamp try to monitor threads for problems and terminate them?

not that i'm aware off (especially as you're unlikely to be using the thread handling that Winamp uses internally).

Well, at least I know it's not Winamp now.

Any ideas as to what might cause something like that?

not that comes to mind other than the thread is somehow indicating it's finished of it's own accord or maybe something else is interacting with things that you've not seen.
