The picture is just a reference. I'm not even using it anymore. I only used it when I was just beginning to skin, to get the style down. Now that I've skinned most of the windows, I don't need it anymore.

You mean colour themes, right? (I'm supposing you mean colour themes because I've already established what the LCD will be like).

Seven pages for one skin? Cleanup, you're starting a trend for long threads. Now get on with it. Or I'll bite you.

i dunno....you can try making the display darker with more contrast between it and the frame.

btw, the current colors dont look bad at all....i'd just thought you could try out something different.

i'm interested in how the shuf/rep will work, as in, on/off. I think maybe if they rotated, that'd be cool.

sidenote: perhaps a transparency would look cool on wa5, modern. *cough* hint *cough* that can wait until this is finished tho.

The skin is in danger.

The laptop I was working on for this skin just died. Any computer techies out there, please help.

I got a blue screen, which I have gotten before. When the laptop restarts, I get this error message in command prompt:

Quote:
Memory write/read failure at 0FFF0000, read FF10FF00 expecting FF10FF10

Memory access line failure at 0FFF0000, read FF10FF10 expecting 00000000

Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.
Any ideas? Looks like bad RAM to me. I have a warranty on the laptop, by the way.

Specs are:

Dell Inspiron 8200
Pentium 4 1.6 GHz
256 MB RAM
Bought a year and a half ago

He's helped me. The thing starts now, in fact, I'm typing this message on it, but I have less than half the RAM than I did before.

I've backed up all my skins and art. You guys can stop worrying now. I'll go bitch at Dell, maybe.

The last time i had a blue screen on my Dell laptop i needed a new harddrive... lol
Nah, don't worry, indeed it looks like it's "just" the ram.
They have a pretty good customer service.. (I still bought a Toshiba this time... hehe..)

With my original Dell installation CDs came one with system testing tools.. If you have one of them and can run it, it's worth it, will probably tell you whats wrong.

Good luck with it!
Oh.. and get 512MB RAM, surely makes a difference in graphics

I took out the panel and cleaned the RAM and the ports, and Dell says that if I continue to have blue screens regarding RAM, I can get it replaced, free of charge.

I switched the RAM sticks, and I haven't had a crash for about 30 minutes now. That's pretty good on this laptop's standards.

I know a lot of you bitch about button labels in my skins, so here's Artemis with some button labels - but as you can see, at least, I can see, and I predicted: they look like shit.

Hmm... I see the buttons have a sort of "cracks" around them (you know, there's a circle in the middle, and then a ring around it with 3 cracks). How about having the labels "coded" in these cracks? Something like:

code:

| \ | | |
- o o - o - o - o - o
| / | | / \

(prev) (play) (paus) (stop) (next) (load)

Many who live deserve death, some who die deserve life - can you give it to them?
Then be not so quick to deal out death in judgement.

Subtleties wouldn't be subtle if everyone noticed them. But it's subtleties that make a good skin.

Heh , dam I should have explained , I ment that I'd go for a more freeform interface design if I'd do a feng style skin , but thats me .
Nice design cleanup in any case.

It's not really Feng's style. I dunno what his style is. I just liked the way that certain drawing looked. The colours, textures, and theme of it, so I applied that to my skin. I'm not trying to imitate him in any way.

I'm scrapping the skin.

I'm also kidding.

What I am doing, which is what I'm not doing, is skinning the MB and 2.9 components. They'll probably come on a later date when I have nothing to do.

At the moment, I'm going to start the painful process of splitting up the .bmps. The wait begins.
