hehe that's an endless and fruitless task!

Until recently, snake thought a Quid was part of the imperial system of currency, and that we still used shillings and stuff.

Since I pointed out quid=pound, and we've been metric for years he uses quid to refer to ANY ammount of currency, completely confusing me.

Vis menu - Good idea I think launch current will be there, perhaps a list of available ones (I don't use Vis so it hadn't occured to me, I've only been playing with vis last couple of days)

Track time title bar - perhaps not, due to one simple decision I made when coding the way the current title text function works.

Mike,
Instead of a "launch avs option", why not list the available vis settings on a seperate context menu, similar working to the playlist menu, tie these to launching the acctual VIS app, is that workable???

And your not alone , never use vis myself

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking.

have a sub menu with a list of vis plugins, click on one to launch it, but also have launch current.

Just another thought , could you implement a "main skin" context menu, to select skins from the a normal winamp skin folder?, that way can change my mikros also by selecting which main skin I fancy at the time.

That make sense?, ummmmm, not sure lol, hmmmm, I'll be back

It does that already Mr Jones!

If you are NOT in MikroAMP skin mode the skin menu is for Winamp skins (.zip, .wsz and now folders too).

I have my first release candidate:

* Brindify
* Cursors from inside winamp

2.50 Release Candidate

todo:

Get your names in! I need the real names of Mr Jones and the others who've been helping out a lot here.

Other package versions:
* With skinmaster skin
* Some thanks packages, nominate the skin of yours you'd like to see come in the MikroAMP installer.

Later...

What I want, what I really really want...

What I want now to finish off is:

Mr Jones - Real Name, Best skin by, url of choice
Duk - Real Name, Best skin by, url of choice
Jayn - Best skin by, url of choice
BullGawd - Real Name, best skin by, url of choice
cappy - Real Name, Best skin by, url of choice.

I need to add you all to the credit reel, and build a custom MikroAMP install for your best skins (with your URL instead of mine) to thank you all for your help. So either post it here, or mail it to me. My email is easy to find

Thanks again.

Pending the arrival of info on BullGawd and flatmatt, I've added people's names to the credit reel, and built 3 versions of the MikroAMP install.

Get them here

The turning on/off of vis plugins may come in the future.

I eventually decided I couldn't be bothered to add it. I don't use vis.

It would be nice to activate/deactivate the AVS window, and other vis plugins. But later. There is enough here for now. I need to get this done and out and move back to some work on shoutcASP that needs doing.

Oh and if you want a bigger package (huhuhu I said package) then you could tell me which of your skins to build it with, but since you sent me your pussy (huh-huh I said pussy) skin I thought you just wanted that.

I can do like I did with Duk and build one with a whole skin install...

Heh, Yeah I realised that after I downloaded the duk pack, I was thinking you were just wanting a Mikro skin to build into the install, not a huge big full skin...

In that case..... I change my skin to.....

Final Release!

Ok, that's it done, code freeze, build freeze, install freeze.

final versions of MikroAMP 2.50 are now available.

MikroAMP 2.50 - Standard Edition
* Skin bugs fixed
* Skin Development mode
* Skin selection menu
* Cursor Support
* Deactivate the trip to the MikroAMP url in the minibrowser (must post that page up!)
* "MikroAMP Skin Mode" - for those standalone MikroAMPs
* Random MikroAMP skins
* Playlist menu (configurable number of tracks and action)
* Turn off playlist, bookmarks and skins menus
* Quick Configuration - fast access to Skin Dev, Title Text, interface modes, Brindify mode
* Brindify - Enhanced Random Playback
* LucidAMP support - Skins can define transparency levels

MikroAMP 2.50 - Jayn Edition
Same as the standard edition, but the base skin inside MikroAMP is replaced with the Mikro from Jayn's DuskAmp, and the installer also installs DuskAmp as the current skin. Also the Minibrowser goes to Jayn's Mikro pages instead of to the Skinmaster.co.uk site.

MikroAMP 2.50 - Mr Jones Edition
Same as the standard edition, but the base skin inside MikroAMP is replaced with the Mikro from Mr Jones Jerry against the wall skin. The Installer also installs this skin as the current skin. Minibrowser goes to Mr Jones Jerry Ryan skin pages.

MikroAMP 2.50 - Duk Edition
Ditto, but with Duk's Harvest Moon Skin

MikroAMP 2.50 - BullGawd edition - Coming soon
MikroAMP 2.50 - Meddling Kids Edition - Coming soon

Get them at the Skinmaster.co.uk MikroAMP download center

ToDo:
Skin packs, MikroAMP web site, MikroAMP minibrowser page on skinmaster.co.uk.

Thanks for the help guys!

Wahhhh, mine goes to Jayn's little mikro page instead of my Jeri Shrine by default

Also where the heck is it pulling the Dusk Mikro from as the default skin when winamp has it's base skin on?, as far as I can see I don't have Dusk on my system anywhere, plus the Default Mikro in the winamp directory is my Jeri one, so where is Dusk mikro hiding....

Curious....

Bugger, I built your install with the wrong version of the DLL. (Your install contains Jayn's dll)

Bugger, bugger, bugger.

I'll have to re-build the mikroamp plugin with your skin, and re-build your install. Feck.

Okay, my real name is Matt Sestak, if you must use it. URL is http://www.flatmatt.com

And, yes, my best skin is Meddling Kids. The Mikro, by itself, is called "Meddling Mikro". Did you say skins plural? MikroAMP skins plural? If so, could you add the Terminus Mikro to the pack? You can get it at flatmatt.com.

EDIT:

In other news, I've been having lots of MikroAMP update problems recently. All when switching from MikroAMP'ed Winamp skin to MikroAMP base skin. Mostly titlebar; when I click to make it active, it's fixed. Once the tray icons (which won't fix themeselves). Funniest, though, have been two transparency issues:

(Not sure how Tripod's doing with image linking right now)

EDIT 2:

Okay, got the Jayn Mikro... I'll quote the FAQ:

"This is the Special Jayn edition, with Jayn's favourite Mikro, and his url. Jayn has been THE most helpful person EVER with MikroAMP!"

Uhhhhhh...

EDIT 3 (No reason to start another post):

I've created a new MikroAMP. It was originally for Project Español, but I'm not sure if I'll ever finish that, so here's the Mikro:

http://sestakm.***********/ol.bmp

Jayn, would you put it on your page, please? It's name is "Español" (The ñ code is Alt+0241)

Hmm I thought I'd got that title bar bug in skin dev mode, but I guess not. It will have to wait I think. And the icons is weird. Always update for me... Maybe a skin doesn't have the icons?? If the skin is a 2.0 skin it won't have the tray icons and the ones from the last used skin will be kept I think. Check the mikro.bmp in question.

Oh fuck. That'll teach me! My batch files I use for maintaining the branches of the code (to change url and base skin) and branches of the installer and documentation!

In other news!

Mr Jones Edition is now the Mr Jones edition (with the Mr Jones skin and url!)

And I've added the MikroAMP pages.

The URL in the Minibrowser for the Standard edition now works. The MikroAMP Pages are updated on my site. I've got an index/intro page, full feature list, manual of some of the advanced features (anything else need covering?) and a space for skinning guide. I'd appreciate any feedback on that section.

Started to work on the MikroAMP skin pack system.

I forgot to mention, but if I create a custom install for you, you can post it wherever you like. It's yours.

Essentially it's my plugin, with your graphics. Really we ought to have some sort of agreement that goes:

* Plugin is my work and must not be misrepresented as anyone elses work.
* Artwork in custom packs is the property and work of person who made it (duk, mr jones, jayn, flatmatt..) and must not be misrepresented as the work of anyone else
* Sites with my plugin are encouraged but not required to link me.
* I'll link you if I remember to add the link
* Anyone may re-distribute the install of Standard, so long as it is made clear it's my work, and no modifications are made, also no charge in any way shape or form may be levied for this service.
* Re-distribution of the Custom packs requires the permission of the Skinner who the custom pack is for, my permission may be assumed under the same rules as the Standard distribution
* You may not repackage the dll plugin at the heart of MikroAMP. You may only redistribute the complete work I publish (the NSIS installers is the smallest unit of distribution)

As for the skin packs. First couple are ones I am building myself cos I want to sort out how they work. Essentially it will be a collection of skins for MikroAMP re-distributed with skinner credit and permission. First one is the Jayn Collection. With all Jayn's Mikro's from her page (ones made by Jayn only.)

After that, hopefully it is up to Jayn to select a bunch of skins that go together, collect the information and permissions and pass it onto me to host. So if she's still interested, speak to her!

Oh and I need an updated skin guide for MikroAMP, if Jayn or anyone wants to write one. And there are some broken links to my apps on WSD, since I lost the ftp.

Mike...what am I doing wrong? I can't get it to change skins. I d/l'd the skin pack, and saw where it said something about a folder inside the Winamp\Skins folder...do I make a folder called something, or was it supposed to make this folder itself? Also could this be why , on the configuration menu/skins tab, when I check MikroAMP Skins and then OK, and go in later...the check is on Winamp Skins and MikroAMP skins is unchecked?

Thanks matt...I have your newest skin...will get it up soon...I still need to get Duk's up also.

Anyone have any ideas/thoughts on any 'themes' for the skin packs?

lol and there was me content in the knowledge that I had made the whole system "Jayn Proof (tm)" I guess not.

First thing, it's a SuperPiMP install. When you run the install, assuming your skins folder is:
j:\some\gay\path\winamp\skins

A folder:
j:\some\gay\path\winamp\skins\MikroAMP\Jayn
Will be created. You don't have to do anything. The skins will be put in there.

Quote:
From the: MikroAMP Manual
To enable MikroAMP skin mode, either: Right click on MikroAMP, Select the skins menu, select MikroAMP Skins. (If the skins menu is not present, select quick conf->Skin Menu to enable it). OR Right click on MikroAMP, Select Configure, change to the skins tab, and select the MikroAMP skins option, then click OK. If MikroAMP doesn't know about any MikroAMP skins, then the MikroAMP skin mode will turn itself off. So if you jump to MikroAMP skin mode, then open the skin menu, and it's still turned off, and you still have the skin that the Winamp window has it's probably a lack of any skins.

To tell MikroAMP where the MikroAMP skins are, drag'n'drop each bitmap that is a MikroAMP skin onto the MikroAMP window. (you can drop multiple files). MikroAMP does not move or copy the file, just remembers where it is (You can view a list of the skins it knows about on the configuration dialog's skin page, this is also the place to visit to make MikroAMP forget a skin). If you delete one of those skins from your harddrive, the next time you try and load that skin into MikroAMP it will forget the path to that image and move back to the default skin.
Ok so you're MikroAMP skin mode won't stay checked. Browse to the skins you just installed from the skin pack. Select them all (Click on the first, shift click on the last) hold down the left mouse button on the last click and drag them onto MikroAMP. MikroAMP will flicker as it applies each one in turn.

Then it will settle on the last one. You can now go to the skins menu on the context menu (right click on MikroAMP -> Skins) and it should already be in MikroAMP skin mode, and you should have a list of all the skins it knows about.

In the configuration dialog, it will list them all in that list box.

I got's a few ideas for skin pack, and yes boobies was one of them .

Mike, could you make the NSIS script available to us?, that way could compile the packs at this end for you.

I'm assuming it's a fairly straight forward script that pack individual files, and extracts them in a reverse fashion to the give, would it just be a case of altering the script to change the install screen details, pack different files and then compile into the final exe?

Could thrash out a couple of packs today for you to post on the download site.

Back to the day job
