Do you condone the downloading of software?

I bet everyone with broadband who uses Kazaa has downloaded at least 1 game and at least 1 app. If so, I assume you condone it.

I do for the following reasons:

1: The games available through Kazaa are readilly cracked, you don't need the cd in order to play. I've downloaded several games I already own to remove the cd-hassle.
2: I paid £180 for Windows XP, so I don't see the harm in taking something like Office 2000 for free. And Microsoft aren't short of a few bob.

I've downloaded several hundred GBA ROMs which I happily play on my GBAsp using the flash ROM cart, have never bought an OS yet, my PSone is chipped. and have been swapping games/apps for the last 20 years, even right back to the 8 bit computer days swapping cassette software on the playground,

I do it because I'm a tight wad who has better things to spend money on, and because I can.

I would download more games, unfortunately all of them don't work, or aren't what they say they are. I can't remember downloading a game and having it be what it was named. Every other game turned out to be either sim city or Unreal tournament 1. So, fuck it.

I hate it when I DL an app that guarntees 100% english (it's in english, only problem ITS NOT IN ENGLISH GRAMMAR!!!), and apps that are in a foreign lang so you don't know what the install info is saying, and it turns out that you installed something totally different than from what the label said.

This is a sig of some nature.

I download lots of free software, but I assume you mean downloading copyrighted software from someone not being the copyright holder.
Copyright originally was supposed to protect the copyright holder against others making a profit from selling illegal copies. Now copyright has become a tool to restrict the legitimate use and sharing of copyrighted works. So although I do not condone the general illegal downloading of software, I believe breaking unjust laws is not always a bad thing.

I think it's no big deal, as long as you don't overdo it.

downloading 1 or 2 programs, bleh who cares.

but downloading libraries of games, and gigs of software is pushing it. esp if you manage to profit off of it.

yea...I said it.

I've only dled one program in my life w/o un-installing it because most of the apps are fake! (Actually, now that I think of it, I ended-up buying the program anyway because it came with a free strategy guide )

This is a sig of some nature.

The only things I've downloaded that I still use are PSP and Trillian Pro... Which I plan on buying both of them when I get a job. (I'm only 15)

Cylob, you can just get a small NO CD crack for games to get rid of the CD hassle aswell.

I've got a bunch of warez but basically I only use it for school projects or personal use, not for profit of any sort. Not that that is any sort of excuse or justification. Maybe if photoshop didnt cost so much, but of course maybe if a billion pricks like myself didn't steal it, it wouldn't.

Once I'm out of school and working a real job full time I plan to purchase most of these programs.
