I searched for a long time for something concerning this and didn't find anything so I'll post what I found:
I open winamp and a black error box with red text and outline appears when I open Winamp at the top center of my screen. After clicking like the message says, it shows the "winamp has encountered a problem and must close" windows error box. Winamp never opens.
This happened only after I started using Winamp Remote that I can remember but I don't think it started right after I began using it... it's like it randomly came up one time.
Is this something anyone else has seen? Or possibly not related to Winamp at all...
I just can't tell.
My computer's specs:
Dell Dimension 8300
Windows XP Home SP 2
P4 2.66 GHz
1 GB RAM
Winamp 5.5
No 3rd Party Plugins
I chose Separate Settings in the installation like I always have.
I've noticed that in my processes winamp is still there even after I try opening it and I cannot terminate the process... Everything else seems normal like it has always been. I also saw a Dr. Watson error the first time it happened and now see to extra processes sitting in the list after attempting to open Winamp.
If there is anything I can add that might help please tell me. I have taken all information into account that I thought may be helpful but I don't know alot about this so I need some guidance if I'm missing something.
EDIT: I did a reinstall and I had to fix all of my settings again but it seems to be ok now... sorry for my noobiness but I hope if anyone else experienced this it helps them...
