Crashes upon start of certian video files..........

Great, now I get to post something that probably is elementary, baaa...baaaa...
I would love some help\advice, software not my gig unfortunatly. here goes:
P4 2.4GHz
3/4 Gig RAM
Soyo lite motherboard, on bourd
intel 82801DB (ICH4) AC'97 audio controller
NVIDIA geforce 4000 128MB video
Win XP, sp2
all hardware\software updated fully! fresh complete install, no plugins that did not come with buid- directly from the Lama's ass (my toenails freshly clipped, shoes shine like the sun, bounce a quarter off my bunk SIR!)

Well the funny thing is winamp fails- the whole "encountered an error and needs to shut down" followed with the "report error to microshaft" dialoug. This happens anytime I try to open certian video files. It is not even a file type thing, some .avi's work, some don't. I can play the faulting files with realplayer, quicktime (only installed temporarily to test this bug, they will never whip any Lama ass) I will attatch the error report next time I am in windows world. By the way heard of XMMS? Default SuSe player?- looks and feels like Winamp is it derived from you guys?

Try to find something the offenders have in common.

Open them in GSpot and see what it reports.
