Usually caused by a bad 3rd-party plugin.
Remove said plugin or try a clean install

Either use the uninstller that some come with or delete the .dll file in the ...\Winamp\Plugins directory.

List all the files in the ...\Winamp\Plugins folder and we will tell you what should/shouldn't be there. Or list all the plugins names under Preferences -> Plug-ins -> Input, Output, Visualisation, DSP/Effect, General Purpose and Media Library.

If you are too lazy to do that just do a clean install

Those are all the standard ones. It doesn't look like you have any, just as you said. If you post your system specs maybe we can locate the problem. Other than that I'm afraid all I can suggest is that you do a clean install, but do follow the backup procedure if you don't want to lose your Media Library entries.

I think I do. It sounds like you set it to run in Win 95 compatability mode (if running XP).
But I'm glad you got it sorted.

This one, if you don't know what I'm talking about, it doesn't matter.
