Crash when starting to play

My System:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Windows XP
Asus Radeon 9800XT (if that matters)
1 GB Ram

Windows crashed- after that winamp said "error initializing database!! " and when i tried to start to play a file it works for about a second (or maybe 2) and then winamp suddenly quits without a beep or anything.

i deleted the main.dat file like it was explained in another thread in this forum, recreated my media library but winamp still didnt play my files (without crashing after exactly 1 or 2 seconds).

Now i installed 5.08d but nothing has changed.

I hope this isnt some kind of standard problem i am bothering you with but it would take month to browse through all the topics ins earch fpr a silimar problem (since the search-option isn't always that helpful).

i hope you can help
