Dmitry Shostakovich
Genre: Classical - "20th century/Modern"

"The 7th Symphony - Leningrad"
Year: 1941

Shostakovich wrote the 7th Symphony right after he found transport out of a besieged Leningrad. (The Nazis famously attacked the city, as you may recall)

Now is the time for all good Americans to come to the aid of their Country

Yes, they planned to starve the inhabitants (in true nazi fashion).

They nearly succeeded. But thankfully not.

Kraftwerk's 1981 release is the only album by this band that I have currently. The music is very "specific" in nature, and I have to be in the right mood to listen to it. I end up using it more for codec testing than casual listening. Numbers, especially, is a great "problem track", causing VBR bitrate spikes to twice the nominal setting of an encoder. In other words, encoding this track in Ogg Vorbis at -q 5, for instance, which has a nominal bitrate of 160kbps, will have bitrate spikes up to 300kbps+.

The music is made up of very pure sounds, plus lots of high-transients, and can push audio software and hardware to the limit.

I'm a psychosomatic sister running around without a leash.

She's a former member of Veruca Salt. I love her voice. Very sweet and sexy. And her screams are inimitable.

This is her only album. Can't wait for her next one.

Artist: Veruca Salt
Album: American Thighs
Genre: Alternative Rock
Year: 1994
Rating: 4/5

...because I love Nina Gordon. Veruca Salt was never the same after she left the band. American Thighs has an energy that really appeals to me. It's one of the only two "real" Veruca Salt albums. The other is Eight Arms To Hold You, and it doesn't compare.

if you want to post and play the game than stick to the rules and not go wandering around trying to promote your own band.

the a-z of artists is like the name says - first the artist and a pic of a cover is a bonus
your hobby band starts with a S and not with a X

So there's this vidoe that's been playing on OHMYTRANCE.COM--http://inlive.co.kr Trance&Dance.

The Video in question has 4 women playing volley ball in what look's like a South American setting. The song I thought was called Au La La La but after searching the net I came up with nothing . Anyone know the answer to this one?

Artist: The B-52's
Album: Whammy!
Year: 1983
Genre: New Wave
Rating: 5/5

This is my favorite B-52's album (and I've got their whole collection). Favorite songs are Legal Tender, Whammy Kiss, Song For A Future Generation, Moon 83 and Work That Skirt. This band was a true Psychedelic/New Wave pioneer, and seemed to define their own genre.

This was his album that came out after almost a decade. I first heard his music when it was the soundtrack to one of my all time favorite games, RocketJockey.

(did we already have him?)
