We have something in common. I 2 have an account at DeviantArt. ATM due 2 U, I logged in to take a peak cause I havent been there in awhile

WoW I have pictures there aswell. I havent been there in quite awhile. It's also kinda difficult to move around in, but then again I've only been in there a handful of times.
When I came here yesturday, to learn more about WA, I never thought there would be ARTISTS!!

I saw some episodes of Family Guy recently and just wanted to try to make some vector graphics as well, so I took a screenshot and modelled the image after it.

Namelessv1: Which program do you use for vector graphics? I made the attached image with CorelDRAW.
Attached Images
File Type: png stewie 1.png (70.5 KB, 820 views)

At the risk of repeating something, What is Vector?
I've only recently been playing with layers, and still need alot of work.
I have been using paint shop pro and a little prog called Iphoto <<--(I learned on first).
On PBS there is a digital show that I have learned some of what I know, but he uses photo shop, which I am trying to aquire since some of the things that he teaches are not the same in PSP, such as using layers.
I like what you guys do, maybe I can learn something from you?
I'll login to Da later K?

Basically, there are two methods of describing images: You can save the colour of each and every pixel, or you can save the shapes the image is made up of. Each shape has a set of characteristics (such as its colour, position or the kind of border it has). Shapes can be as simple as a circle or a square, or as complex as a series of connected points that make up the shape.

The primary advantage of vector graphics is that you can resize them without losing quality.
Here's an a example of vector art:

For some reason the links won't let me go to DA?
I think it's cool that there are ppl here who go to Da. And I like that this POST is here.
I think I understand what you said, does it work with photos aswell? I'd like to learn more, if anyone cares to somewhat tutor me?

I am very new at this forum, and I seemed to have already ruffled some feathers, but I hope to possibly make a couple of friends here, at least ones who do art. So please bare with me, I don't want a negative rep. Or does anyone know of a smaller forum like this, that I don't need to worry about searching EVERYTHING before I post.

It's Amelie! That film is excellent. And a good start at vector art, I'm sure my first try would be nothing like that. I reckon you haven't quite worked out the facial features yet, it's a bit shabby. But I'm sure you will with practice.

A rainlendar skin I did pretty quickly last night. I made it to match my current wallpaper since I couldn't find any decent skins that weren't all plastic/metallic looking.
