Hey !
If we use no-ip what things do we have to change so that the scripts works ?
And if we are changing IP every time we connect ?

http://stormrevolution.pwp.blueyond.../sig/vensig.php shows up like that because PHP is not supported. Your t35 account does support it.

Make sure that the picture file is in the same folder as the .php code.
my blueyonder account does support PHP (unless during the last few weeks they have changed the account, the free account DONT support PHP but the paid one does, but have been gettin problems trying to get my PHP to work with them, also with t35 im getting the problem that my image just shows up as a square with a cross what ever i do dunno if someone can try the image on there one to see if it works or create an image using the one im using right now for me (would be nice ) HELP! lol (god i hate PHP!) (oh an i cheated on the image used "MS Paint" and saved as a .png so dunno if that works so if it dont who wants to be nice

the image: http://www.stormrevolution.pwp.bluey...sig/vensig.png

Ama, set the code to connect to the NO-IP address, and if you have the correct software updating the account, it should always go to the correct IP.

Storm, If you post the PHP code, I will try it on my server.

Mog, you are goign to have to be more specific as to what you are trying to do.

yeah, i'm back.

Ama1 the whole point to using no-ip.com is to make sure when your IP does change it knows about it and it will take care of finding the right place to go all the time. there are two key components, the no-ip url is pointed towards your current IP and then the DUC on your pc sends your current IP to the no-ip website and is updated when and if it changes.

Unless you know about PHP, your best bet is to change only the following section of the code:

Header("Content-type: image/png");
$im = imagecreatefrompng("pcrn.png"); //change sigpic.png to your picture file

// Fill in your own server information here:
$host = "pcradionetwork.no-ip.com"; // without http://
$port = "8000";
$listenlink = 'http://pcradionetwork.no-ip.com:8000/listen.pls'; //make link to stream

Change pcrn.png to whatever you named your png. Same wuth IP and port numbers.

Also, if you're gonna have any off air time, change the code below:

$string1= "The PC Radio Network";
$string2= "Is Off The Air";
$string3= "We'll be back at 10 AM Eastern ";

The PC Radio Network: An upbeat variety of the 50s-Today!

You have to "host" your script on a web site that supports PHP. Just linking to it locally or stticking it in your signature is not going to work. The way to stick in your signature on these forums is to insert and IMG that points to where you have it "HOSTED".

You must take the code from http://www.ruffdawgradio.com/sig.phps and insert it into 'Notepad'. Change all of the configurables to your liking. When you save, click File, Save As.. 'Filename' shold be <whatever>.php and 'Save as Type' should be: 'All Types'

Upload the .php file to your webserver and you should have a link like so: http://yoursite.com/sig.php

Your output should look something like my sig. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post back. Thanks.

Yeps, I did all that. I uploaded it, with the image in the same directory. Everything in the coding seems to be in order, but i just get a box with a red x in.
I've checked that image definatly is in the correct directory.

The actual php file is http://jsofts.com/sig.php and the image is http://jsofts.com/sig.png.

I wasnt aware that there was and extra tags...

I've just checked and there are no extra tags, be it <body>, <head>, <html> or anything.

[edit] I just noticed that the previous message (the show of coding) is wrong. I did try that to see if it would work (on the off chance), but edited it since and took it out.

The coding i have now is...

Decided to get the code working and since I am too inept to get the GD libraries working on my own servers I did it on my free Lycos host.

Everything seems to be working fine except for:

I am NOT offline.

I have the server setup correctly in the file:

$host = "67.18.93.146"; // No 'http://' in the host
$port = "8000";

Other than that I only modified the image file name.

Any ideas of what's wrong here?

What stumps me on my own server is I have installed both the GD and GD2 libraries but neither wants to work and I know this for sure because my nuked site also has some GD features in it and it also tells me it's not installed. I probably won't get it working until I have the time to sit down and tinker with it to see whats wrong but I have all the extentions enabled - gif. jpg, png and the such.

Damn linux...

Since its taken chris wayy to long to reply, i did it in about 2 mins. You can find your output at www.ruffdawgradio.com/mrsig.php Its giving me an offline message, hopefully this is correct.

I am using my background and error message, but that can be changed. Hopefully we can find the solution.

Hope this helps

I am just not trying to use your script. I have used others such as the SigX, and Sam2 scripts but I am wanting to use this as it gets its info from the Shoutcast server thus in theory I could include the SERVER_GENRE info which I use to display the current DJ in my webpage scripts I am wanting to make Dynamic sigs for my DJ's to use on forums they frequent which will show the current DJ and Playing track only. I am trying to figure out how to add the $server_genre into the script and take out the others. I can simply take the others and place there possition outside the image size but I still need to put the $server_genre in there somehow... Can someone please advise me on how this would be done. Thank you.

**EDIT**
I am also curious if I can contain the Song title information to a set ammount of characters other than it running out of room it would be like ... at the end instead of running off the edge and looking bad... Thanks

thats simple enough... when you put it in the IMG tags surround the IMG tags with URL tags... like this
code:
{URL=http://www.LINK_TO_SITE.com}{IMG}http://www.LINK_TO_SIG.com/FILE.PHP{/IMG}{/URL}

Just replace the { } with [ ]

TwiztedIndian, sorry the script grabs information from 7.html and there is no server genre displayed. I'm sure there is a way if grabbing from the SAM2 DB, but not with this script.

Ohhhhhhh I was assuming this pulled info from the XML output... where is 7.html located
Is it possible to change the script to use the XML output? I am not sure how it would be done I am sure it could be.. but I just do not know enough to lol Also I dont want to use the SamDB becuase not all our DJ's are able to afford the software thus they dont use it.. besides I would have to have a way to change the script for each DJ when there on air....

**EDIT**
OK nvm I found it... well.. kinda.. lol.. I found how to access it in IE... but is that the only one shoutcast creates? surely there is one with more or all info in it?

I have taken your script and edited it slightly for my own purposes - thank you very much !!!

I have a query though:
I run my server off my own computer so when my computer is switched off so is the server. When this happens the image does not display at all!

Is there a way of editing the script so that when the server is switched off it still shows the image with the "temporarily offline" info ?

Many thanks to anyone who can advise

Has anyone been successful at modifying this script to include listener numbers from multiple servers?

Chris, finally got it working on my decicated box. Took me THREE MONTHS before I got miffed and reinstalled PHP and obviously PHP wasn't associated with the GD libraries properly even though it was setup in the php.ini file. It's much happier now and I'm ready to tinker with it alot more.
