Now, students, this is a classic example of when it is appropriate to brand a thread with the "Pointless" stamp, and subsequently lock it.

Almost. The did hire some of the best software developers on earth, and then they made a media player with all the features they could think of. Not really that sinister.

Slidje: there will be the same option to send anonymous usage stats (as there is in winamp2), but it will still be optional, and they will be very open about what is being sent. Not exactly spyware.

Why is microsoft bashing gay? As far as I can see they have been lazy arses after they released windows 95. Windows XP is hardly any better than 95 (except for stability.. not that it couldn't be better). They created monopolies on the software market(browsers and such) and purchasing any of their products is shit expensive.

On the other hand, windows 95 is an excellent piece of technology, and it is what brought us all where we are today. Therefore I think bashing Windows is wrong. Bash Microsoft all you want, but don't bash windows.

i also think microsoft bashing is gay, i use microsoft products every day like most of you. and i prefer them over all the others. so what if they crash every now and again, not hard to resart.

that's why....

There is a program for windows called ghost or drive image so you don't have to reinstall everything.

Installing Windows 2000 or XP is a heckuva lot easier than installing 95. I've had to reinstall this XP three times due to RAM failures, which ended up corrupting a lot of data. For me, it was a nice thing to be able to pop in the cd, hit a few buttons, and leave it for an hour. It didn't even erase any of my data, all I had to do was reinstall my apps (which wouldn't have been necessary, except the bad RAM corrupted my registry.)

XP is really good, provided you have the knowledge and time to tweak it properly. I've spent a while tweaking this system, and I can safely say it's the best PC I've ever used. It boots fast, shuts down fast, runs games well, is stable, and has plenty of free disk space. Comparing this to my previous 9x systems, I can safely say XP is the best windows ever made. (2K is close, but XP has the little tweaks that make it better.)

This thread I started was just inspired from the " New Name For Beta 4 " thread. A courious but funny thread.

Some should learn to laugh about themself and don't take anything too seriously. Every Software made by a human being is imperfect.

I havn't had thought that this thread is so longliving.

WEBMASTER please be so kind and kill this thread. It's(hould be) over now.

I know. Just get some guy to make a Windows2000 disk edition. Just gotta find a way to place over 255 - 1.44mb disks! And a guy with a lot of time to install it by disk.

what would be funnier is seeing sumone installing 2k on 200 disks and after hour and hours of installing you get to disk 178 and it dont work, so u try again and again and again and again and again and it still dont work and it doesnt let you continue till u get 178 installed and then u pick up your puter and throw it at the ground about 200 times and then afterwards cry cause you broke your puter AND that you just spend a whole day installing oNE thing for no reason at all cause ONE little 3"1/2' peice of plastic that costs 10 cents decided to fuck up.

Wow, that was too much typing, but anywaaaaays, if i were to see sumonr do that, i know i would laugh

there is NO purpose for this post, im just bored
