Broadcast so that people can listen without players

I am a newbie using winamp+shoutcast to broadcast using my own desktop server. I find it unpleasant for listeners to open vlc players and the likes. Is there a way to let them listen without those players? Thank you all in advance!

You could setup a web player. That way all they would have to do is goto the player page and they would be able to listen.

there always needs to be some sort of player, even if it's done via a web browser and relying on the native HTML5 audio control to provide playback (as the recent 2.x DNAS enable on the DNAS's status pages).

but generally, if you don't want them to have to download something, you will need to provide an applicable website page and a working web based player (HTML5 &/or Flash based) which they then just have to click play to access the stream.
