A plugin to revolutionize Winamp

Plus I need this plug in. Winamp should have this built in now because lots of plugins could be built for this thing!!
Ok I play the guitar.I unplug the microphone from my box.
I got a converter that changes the size from the small plug size of the mic to the large size of the guitar cord. These are easy to find.
Now I open the sound properties and uncheck the mute on the microphone, and lo I am playing my strat through the box.
But if winamp could grab that first and give me some cool sound effects like delay, corus, distortion, etc, etc. Then you see, Winamp would truly be a Winamp.

Point Winamp to your Line-In jack and get DSP's to play with the sound (like reverb, etc.). you're better off just recording your licks in Cool-Edit and playing with it then.

Ok endless17,You nailed that one. However now I am wondering about the delay time from the mic.Something about our boxes causes us to have a slight delay there.I know an old tube amp will be right on time, and are our boxes not so much better than tubes?Winamp does not cause the delay.Maybe I dont know but, could winamp be made to just skip something and go to the mic somehow.does windows &reg cause the prob?

are you talking about the reverb setting on your amp? which one do you have. specifically, what features are you specifically looking for?

in terms of real-time effects, i doubt that's going to be much use. there's no reason anyone would want to play a live recording amped out into your computer. i haven't played around much with Cool Edit, but i'd doubt highly that it doesn't have some effects that could mimic any old circa 70s tube amp pretty nicely.
