old skins thrown out???????

just curious, been quite a while since ive been here but i see my wife using wimp and real-ly and just had to shudder so back i came to put winamp 5.+ on this my third system since i last skinned. and well with the download and the new look forums and more obviously the website ( well new to me, i dunno just how new considering i was skinning 2.71 in the time of 2.9+ and the heyday of winamp 3) i figured id search for my skins, see if i'd gotten 10 or 12 more downloads since the days of yore and low and behold this thread cause i couldn't find em

WARNING gratuitous pimp ahead

bright shocker - my first
demonic thoughts
hi-fi integration
tubular amp

well semi pimp since they cant be found (by me at least)

me wonders if 1001 winamp skins dot com has them or is even still there ill check that next. any who , any answer for me as to deleted/missing skins.

well at least my account was still valid after all this time

any response would be greatly appreciated

ps where can i find a d/l of a regions generator

typed in 1001 and low and behold back to aohells winamp site
{edit duh no winamp just 1001skins.com}
i really hope nullsoft got PAID

and really wish it hadnt

stubborn to change

experiencing change as it happens is bad but less chaotic to ones senses than after a long time apart ie friendship

I believe your problem is not that the skins have been deleted, but that the skin search is pretty much broken (and, well, always has been). Of course I don't know if your skins were removed for some reason or either but I DO know that searching for skins is very hit-or-miss.

id say miss or miss

tried all my titles

and several prominent skinners and or mods in the search
like for example
Mr. Jones seems like it shoulda had 50--100 hits for skins and the search just choked out the same response

not to mention it seems by the totals in parenthesis there should be 20x 50x maybe even 100x as many as it currenlty shows

Any skins that don't have the video window and "generic window" files skinned were probably deleted from Winamp.com a while back.

http://www.1001skins.com/ is still around. They had to give the "winamp" domain back to AOL, and the site has never been the same since, but it still exists, and has many of those older skins.

That's because I don't submit skins under the name Mr Jones, try searching for jones however....

Luigi is right, any incomplete skins were purged from the database a few years ago, up to a point we could retrieve them for people, but as the site has now undergone a severe re-write we no longer have that ability.

thank you jones, Mr.

could you or one of the skin bretheren point me to a sticky or some such thred that would allow me to see a list of what is exactly required inside the zip for current acceptance

i'm not lazy, well, not completely lazy and am looking for the answer.
never mind ill just d/l a current skin in the db and un zip
see not completely dumb either
just a little slow

although the listing or direction would still be nice

having stepped away from my creations for so long, what i thought at the time was close to the cats meow and only needed minor tweaks and pixel adjustments or changes to satisfy my own whims are now in store for major reworks

not only to bring them up to par for current submission standards but to incorporate some of the suggestions i bristled at when they were newly created but reacquaint
myself with psp 8 and the general skinning process before i try to tackle an entirely new creation

i guess i should say IF i attempt to time constraints and all who knows how long the reworks would take.

thanks in advance

No, browser was dropped somewhere in the 5.0 releases, MikroAMP has never been part of the official skin specs, as it's a third party plugin.

If you don't have it installed then any skins made for it won't show.
