the error is the Transcoder has no DNAS to connect to.

most lilkely you don't have a DNAS (sc_serv) running or the Transcoder is trying to find the DNAS on a different port from what the DNAS is running on. but really a screenshot doesn't make that too easy to resolve.

if the DNAS is running, firstly you need to make sure that 'serverport' in the Transcoder config file matches 'portbase' in the DNAS config file.

if they do match then you'd need to send me a copy of your config files so i can check them.

i can't tell much from that as you've posted the same config file for the Transcoder twice. all i can say is to make sure that in the DNAS config file is set to run on port 4567 via portbase=4567 in the DNAS config file.

otherwise with one file there's not much more i can suggest.

i've finally tried your config files (have been far more pressing things to work on) and after changing the file paths (so as not to mess up my existing install in that folder) and removing mp3mode=1 (seems to be erroring for me for some reason), i was able to get it running correctly with what you've posted (all run on the same machine).

the only thing i can think off might be the serverip=localhost line in the transcoder config file - i'd disable it (via a ; at the start of the line) and see if that works.

Hi Daz, do you think the port numbers fro Serv and Trans are matching ? I am just wondering if something should be similar from Trans and Serv...Please guide me further...

Do you have any pre defined code so that i can just change the IP address, port numbers and other password related stuff? (Tried many times but failed, your help would be a greatly appreciated)

The bottom line is, I want DJ to host a show from different places connecting to my server in the name of my Radio. Kindly help me

your config files are fine for the 2 tools to work between each other if they are running on the same machine as i mentioned in my prior post.

if you're running them on different machines then for sc_trans you need to change the serverip to be the appropriate IP of the machine with sc_serv2 on it i.e. a local lan ip starting with 192 if on a local lan or the full public ip if not. either way, you need to have port 4567 open to the internet for the machine running sc_serv2 on.

if you're going to be doing different DJs, you need to make sure that ports 6358 (as v1 DJ connections connect on djport+1) and 9248 are open to the internet as well otherwise no DJ will be able to remotely connect to sc_trans.

otherwise, not sure there's much else i can do with helping as the config is fine, everything else comes down to how you've setup the tools i.e. same machine, different machine, etc (as that's never been particularly clear in your posts) and opening the appropriate ports for external access to and from the tools.

Hi Daz,

They stay in a different country so they will login from Winamp with DNAS plugin and host the show...

As you said if i open the ports 6358 and 9248 the purpose will be served?

as long as you're opening the ports specified in the transcoder config file to the correct machine then it should work. also you'd need to make sure to add the different dj's to your calendar.xml otherwise they won't be able to connect even if the ports are correctly opened.

pre defined codes for what? i suggest you actually look at the documentation on the wiki at http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcast_Broadcaster and the example files which are provided with the installer as i'm not able to setup the whole thing for you.

rajchev: all i can tell from that image is that you're trying to get a DJ connected but it's not known. have you made sure that djname and djpassword are correctly entered, that there is an entry in the calendar.xml for the djname (so that it is known and also setup to be allowed at the required times). all of that is in the dj example config file.

also it seems like you've not got the DNAS running or some other config issue with the Transcoder which i'm struggling to see how when i confirmed the config files were fine.

cipryfly: you should have created your own thread rather than piggybacking on another one.

the resolution on the image is dire, all i can see is that the transcoder does not see a DNAS so you need to make sure that one is running, that you've setup the Transcoder to connect on the same port as the DNAS is running on and that the password(s) match.
