Plugin file extension...?

Hy.
Can anyone tell me: Does plugin must be a .dll file, or it can be .exe ?

the format of a dll is very similar to an exe though if you're using VB then you won't be able to create (directly) a plugin but there's examples of how to make a plugin in a number of different languages.

How come.. in this modern days most compilers, specially Win32 GUI-based, can create DLLs.

What compiler or language are you using?
